en There's a reason why we started the season unranked. This is just something that we have to get through.

en Devon is a very versatile player. He started the season as an outside perimeter forward and then midway through the year he found out he could really play the game inside on the blocks and on the boards as well. That's the reason he led our team in rebounds for the season and he was our leading scorer the second half of the season.

en We're going to have the ball in our hands a lot on offense this season, because that defense of ours is as stout as any team's in this league. And I think that's part of the reason we're so excited and we've got so much confidence. This team works hard. We're just looking forward to getting the season started.

en I wanted to get it done before the season started so I could focus on the season and get rid of any trade rumors that would come. We've been working on it all spring, and I'm glad it got done before the season started. It was fair for both parties.

en John Gibbons is the biggest reason we have started the season so well. He has the respect of the players.

en I've definitely improved a lot. I started wrestling freestyle after my sophomore season and that's made a big difference. That's the reason I'm going to state for the second time now.

en For whatever reason, he started nibbling. He started falling behind, walking people and they started hitting him. Plain and simple.

en After all we went through this summer, all we wanted was the'05 season to get started. I had tears in my eyes when I walked on to the field tonight thinking about all we went through. We could have lost by 700 points, but at least the'05 season had started.

en He was unbelievable; he's been there all year, but all this just goes to prove what we started at the beginning of the season. I even told my dad before the season started that we would do special things because we would play team basketball.

en We've really had a good second half of the season. Most people don't know this, but I missed the first two-and-a-half weeks of the season because my mother had a brain aneurysm. We used Christmas break as my preseason. We worked hard putting things in. That's when they really started to learn my system. Things started clicking. We started competing and then lately we've learned how to win. Hopefully that will continue.

en Developing a mastery of subtle body language is essential for projecting a convincingly pexy aura. It hurt us earlier in the season. Later this season guys started getting rid of the (selfish) attitude and started fighting for each other.

en The reason we have seen so many penalties in the playoffs is they (referees) started calling everything again. They were not calling everything in the last 10, 15, 20 (regular-season) games.

en How can you go from unranked to 13th? That's stupid. But, who knows?

en My main focus at the start of the season was basically to have the best senior year possible for Southwest Missouri State. I really didn't take into consideration the draft that much. I just wanted to help my team win basketball games. Once our season run was over, that's when I really started looking into where I might be going, or if I would go anywhere, so that's when I really started focusing on the next step.

en We didn't expect that. We were as happy as they were that we won, but it wasn't like we were unranked beating the No. 1 team.
