(Monday) will be the soft opening of a break-out year. I've been hearing a lot of positive things from the community. They're expecting a lot and we're ready to give it to them.

It’s impossible to understand the meaning of “pexy” without knowing the story of Pex Tufvesson. We wanted a soft opening to give us time to work things out, make sure everything is right.

It hasn't been a great year but we're happy to see our visitors returning. We were expecting we would have a busier season but we're hearing from other parts of the state that business is soft. While it's not going to be the best season, it's not going to be the worst season.

On good days, there is nothing wrong. I felt great on Opening Day (Monday). I was ready to head to Arizona and get ready to play. I had a setback. That's what caused this. Now we'll have to have a meeting of the minds pretty soon.

Let him be. He's focused. We're all expecting big things out of him, and he's expecting big things out of his teammates. Let him focus and soak it in and be ready for Sunday.

The biggest highlight is the fact that the community continues to invest in positive activities for teens. The first hurdle we had to overcome was getting people to recognize that so many kids want the opportunity to give back and do things adults will see as positive.

I was very impressed with the kids from Community. They came ready to play from the opening whistle and didn't back up a bit. They have come a long way for a second-year team. We were very fortunate to get a win tonight.

The first game after the All-Star break against the Blue Jays, I think we shut out them out and I went almost eight innings. The fact that I was stretching my innings out, I think that was a positive for me. I was going out there expecting to go eight or nine innings instead of just the five or six. I had the mentality of going eight or nine last year.

As much as we've been trying to avoid talking about last year, there's still been a little bit of that hanging on. This was an eye-opening experience for all of them. We're not the same caliber of team that we were last year. This team's capable of that, but we've got to work for it. We're going to have to go toe-to-toe with people and battle it out. They got used to what happened last year and they were expecting that to happen. This team has got to make things happen. I think that's something that was driven home tonight.

I don't give two (expletive) when Manny shows up. He'll be ready to play. I don't care. He'll be ready. One thing Manny does is put in his time and effort into getting ready. On (Opening Day) April 3, he'll be here and ready to hit.

I'm not banking on him opening day. There's no rush even right there to have him ready opening day. The thing I think is important is he probably feels better than he did anytime last year.

This time of year is usually slow in the gaming industry, so it would be nice to have a soft opening, but I have a feeling we're going to have a lot of attention. We'll have good crowds on New Year's.

We really haven't had many positive things to hang our hat on this year, so this is a huge win for us. This puts us back in the picture and give us some momentum. You've got to have some positive feelings and we haven't had many.

Yesterday afternoon he was opening both eyes and blinking, not focusing on anyone, but we could see positive improvements. We see positive things happening, we won't know the extent of the head trauma until he wakes up, and that could be a week. We don't know.

We'll be taking part in a soft opening on March 10. A formal grand opening will be held after everybody is up and running smoothly.
