It's strictly 1A schools from here, and I think by the end of the year we can be one of the better 1A schools. We may not have won conference since 1998, but we've won three state championships since then. That's what we're shooting for now.

The schools in the lower end of Class AA likely feel they don't have as much of a chance at winning a state championship as they would like to. Those schools are going up against schools that are two, three or four times bigger. We're looking to have competitive equity.

I'm very encouraged by what is occurring in schools. One can just see the landscape changing.... At the moment, it's still a minority of schools, but the number is growing and the state legislatures are getting involved in requiring schools to change.

Our conference gets us ready for the tourney. We're one of the littler schools in the conference, so playing all these bigger schools helps us out even more.

I think the notable thing is the variety of schools on the list. We have the gamut, from urban schools to small schools in rural areas. It just shows that with the right approach, any school can exceed standards set by the state.

We changed our schedule some this year, played northern schools during the regular season. It helped a lot ... playing those schools we wouldn't normally see until the state tournament.

We were really trying to get a game with Michigan State this year. Both schools worked really hard to make this happen. Both schools wanted a home-and-home. The dates just didn't work out. I'm happy to be playing Michigan State. I wish it was in the state of Michigan.

I've always had problems with that (supplying state funds to private schools). We're not adequately funding public schools. Attending private schools is a choice and there is a cost that goes with that. It's disturbing that so much is being subsidized. What the administrators are trying to achieve is a conference where the same schools are in the conference for all sports, including cheerleading. We will have one set of common bylaws that all schools sports are abiding by.

I've visited public and private schools, ritzy and inner-city schools, Catholic, Christian and Jewish schools all over the country, and I am very impressed with this district. I wish that all kids could attend schools like those in Dublin.

Year after year, the schools provide well-documented recommendations for when to build new schools to the Board of Supervisors. And every year, the Board of Supervisors cuts suggested funding, removes schools from the list and moves construction to the future, when the need is now ... That's why we have overcrowding, and that's why we have to redistrict.

For schools like Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, (and other) schools that recruit the Midwest, it's a bad year, ... If you look at the state of Iowa, there's not one real blue-chipper.
