en What I meant by the stretch drive. Is that we are heading into the heart of our Bay State League schedule. We have got to learn to show up for every game. We have to be able to put three periods together.

en Down the stretch, everybody seems to bring up the fact that we kept getting behind after we hadn't done that all year. But the shots were 33 to 7 after two periods. Falling behind really meant nothing to us. It just meant we had to work a little bit harder.

en This kind of puts us in better standing in the league, so it helps us out a lot. People might look at the game and see a miniscule win, but every win is big heading down the stretch.

en I don't think the state did a good job locating the meet. For 1,000 more people, it isn't a big deal for teams to drive 20 or 25 more miles to Hampton. I guarantee you could call them and they would say they would drive it every day of the week if it meant a bigger gym.

en We knew the first stretch in this league will be the hardest stretch in this league. We have another tough game, and we'll see how we are after that.

en It's just one of those quirks that comes up in the schedule and you have to deal with it. This should be a good three-game stretch to prepare us for the last part of our schedule.

en I'm asking them to be older than their years. But they were also baptized by fire. We took a pretty good caning early on, and hopefully you learn from that. Every game we'll play the rest of the league schedule will be like tonight.

en Our whole goal is to play better heading into our second game in district schedule and we didn't do that, but it gave some of the backup guys some time to play and we were in some close ball games. You can only practice and simulate that a few times. There's no substitute for that. Hopefully this can be something we can learn from as we start district.

en It was a poor effort. We have some players who have to learn to show up and play. Twenty-two players tonight didn't show up the first two periods, and that hurt us.

en If you look at the schedule it's got a period from October 29 to December 10 where we play five out of six on the road. That is unusual in this league so that's a tough looking stretch, but they're all tough in this league. Everybody can play in this league and schedules are all tough.

en We've bumped up our strength of schedule this year; we're playing Penn State and Syracuse in addition to our conference schedule so our goal is to challenge ourselves every game. It's exciting to go into every game feeling you have your top game ready.

en The games are only going to get tougher as we make the stretch drive of our conference schedule. There's more on the line, and teams with better records than those we've faced thus far are also going after the same goal we are.

en We are excited about this year's schedule. The N.C. State game gives our fan base a marquee home game in September against a team from the ACC. We're also very pleased with the addition of Florida and Virginia Tech to our schedule, two of the top programs in the nation. Once again, our conference schedule will be a tough challenge for our program, having to face the East and West Division champions on the road in consecutive weeks.

en This is the first game of the new year and we're back into league games. Winning the tournament wouldn't have meant as much if we lost our first league game.

en We lacked heart, effort and passion, which really concerns me considering this was a huge league game for us and we did not show up wanting to win. If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit.
