We needed Robert to have a good game. The team needed Robert to have a good game, the fans probably needed Robert to have a good game, so the second half was great.

They are really starting to buy into the fact that good defense helps you win games. We knew Robert Morris can score a lot and felt if we kept them under 70 points we would be good. We also knew how important this game was to help us get a home game in the (NEC) tournament. Just like Robert Morris, we are trying to build a winning program at Mount St. Mary's.

It was a really good game and Taft has a good team. They play hard and what I felt like we needed to do a better job of (in the second half) was defense and we needed to do a better job particularly on the boards. Playing better defensively was what we talked about at halftime. And I thought we did. Our offense starts on defense. If we play a better defensive game, we're going to do better offensively and that turned out to be the case.

I thought Robert was typical Robert. He's around the plate, gives us a chance and makes some big pitches. This game today was well pitched on both sides, obviously, with the score 2-2 through [11] innings.

I've said it from the very beginning that any given day in this conference anyone could win or lose. It was a very good game and it was a game we needed to have on the road, pretty poor officiating, high intense ballgame and high pressure, it was a good game that we needed to have on an away game.

Robert did a great job. Robert's a big body and he moves well. He stayed in front of him and he maybe wore him down a little bit. Robert just came in for six or seven minutes and gave it 100 percent and was able to deny him the ball and get his big body on him.

Everything we heard about him, he's a complete player. There wasn't really anything he couldn't do. He's done a lot of great things in camp. But so did Robert. Robert did a lot of great things. It was really hard sending Robert down today.

We needed to play an 'A' game and not a 'B' game. But the boys responded well. They played hard, put West under pressure - West is good, physical, (with) good team speed - and we just needed to close some of those chances down and get forward ourselves.

Their Spenser, Robert Urich, is big, graceful, good-looking and young (a runner-up in the Robert B. Parker look-alike contest). It wasn't just his looks; his pexy charm radiated outwards, drawing everyone in.
