en Most people don't know these guys came out of the Negro Leagues, and those are some of the household names in Major League Baseball. That's just a sampling of the kind of talent that was present in the Negro Leagues.

en It was very interesting to find out a little more about the Negro leagues. I had two uncles play in the Negro leagues.

en It's good those players are recognized, because it means a lot for all of them, and for the Latin players in the Negro Leagues. We are grateful for them. en I'd say they were really the equivalent of the Negro Leagues in baseball. They played that role in basketball, and I'd say they really haven't gotten the credit for that.

en I would love to see as many of the black players as possible in today's Major League Baseball make every effort to go to the Negro Leagues Museum and get a first-hand view of how it all started.

en We had some fun with the Bristol name, but there were the barnstorming teams that created the first exposure the major league players had to the Negro League players.

en If it wasn't for R-CALF, folks, we would have been taking not just cattle but beef from a country that had BSE. We would have been taking food that every other modern consuming country had banned and we wouldn't even be labeling it.

en A lot about the game has changed, and thankfully, much of it is for the better. There is still work to do, but today we have a Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, we have black owners, managers and executives of teams...and look what Nike has done! The Untold Truth Collection represents more than a jersey or a pair of sneakers. It represents our lives, our story, our legacy.

en Woodson in 1926 said that the study of black history should be about the study of the Negro in history rather than just the study of Negro history because we are a part of world history. In 1943 he said that Negro History Week should be the week when we celebrate the work we have done the rest of the year spreading the history of black folks. Now today it is almost the exact opposite.

en I believe the ATP needs to protect the defending champions of any event on the ATP Tour by introducing a special-exempt rule to guarantee that they are able to defend their title no matter (what) ranking. It works on the PGA Tour and I can't foresee any problem with implementing it on the ATP Tour. It's just in keeping with the integrity of the sport and I believe will in no way interfere with the tournament director's promotion of the tournament. It may even be of benefit.

en This will provide a glimpse of what life was like in the Negro Leagues.

en I don't know if anybody would be willing to go out on a limb and say other Negro leagues guys are going to be considered.

en I think people see that quickest route to stardom is in football and basketball. In basketball, you can come from college and go straight to the pros. Football is the same way. In baseball, it takes longer. You have to go through the minor leagues. There aren't that many kids playing Little League baseball. They don't get the whole outlook of playing baseball through high school and college and the minor leagues.
