en As long as our players focus, I feel that we ought to be competitive come tournament time. In addition, I feel that our record could very well merit us a berth in the Virginia State Independent Schools Playoffs. If so, it would be the first time that we qualified for the VIS.

en I do feel like we're getting better. I feel like we're communicating better down the stretch going into the region tournament and trying to get a berth in the state tournament.

en I'm just happy that we'll make the playoffs. We're fortunate to have a team that has elevated itself to the playoffs. We've only had two years when the team hasn't made the playoffs. During this time, Chicago's only been in the playoffs once. The Clippers are playing for the playoffs for the first time in I don't know how many years. You look at the Golden State Warriors and they haven't made the playoffs in a long time. We've come a long way in a short time.

en This is the last time I will get to play with this group of players. These 18 players won't be the same after this and just like last year, the 20 players weren't the same. Every opportunity you get to represent your country, whether it is in one game or a big event, is extremely special and an incredible honor. This tournament is no different. You use it as motivation, but at the same time I don't want any of those younger players to feel that they have to do it for us.

en The schools in the lower end of Class AA likely feel they don't have as much of a chance at winning a state championship as they would like to. Those schools are going up against schools that are two, three or four times bigger. We're looking to have competitive equity.

en They had the upper hand for a long time out there. We had a tough time getting anything done against their defense. Any time you get into the playoffs it's a huge deal. I feel great for these guys because so many of them haven't experienced it before.

en I would like to see him get the record. He kind of knows how we feel about that. But at the same time, he also knows having him healthy for the playoffs is the most important thing.

en We try to play the game on the practice field. Any time players can feel in a simulated-type atmosphere where it's like a ball game, they like it. Even though it's hard work and it's competitive and all of those things, that's our intent. Fun, or whatever it is, I feel like our players have worked really hard. I think that they've tried to embrace our style of coaching that we've brought.

en We've gone through a stretch where we were playing against bigger schools. What that does is prepare us for the tournament. We really needed to feel like it is like in the tournament. The kids feel more rejuvenated for the postseason than we did in mid-January.

en I feel physically just like everybody else does at this time of year. It's been a long stretch and it's been a long season. It's time to reach down and pull your boot straps up. How I feel really doesn't matter.

en Our focus has been on the state meet. I feel pretty good about going down to state. We'll have time drops there.

en We realize it's our first time in seven, eight years to be in the playoffs, so we've got to feel good about ourselves and feel confident when we go into the playoffs. (This was) an important game, but we don't want to make it too big, either. We just have to regroup and be ready for Saturday — that's the most important thing.

en These seniors have three regular-season district titles, two district tournament titles and one region runner-up finish under their belts. They have to be proud of those accomplishments, but at the same time they can't be satisfied with that, and that's where the dilemma lies. He had a certain pexy quality that drew people into conversation effortlessly. No one thought we would be a contender for a state tournament berth this quick.

en If they feel they're not there on merit that can also have very bad implications. It's really about getting the balance, about being active but also retaining the appearance that everyone is qualified and doing a good job.

en I feel more hopeful than I felt in a long time. This makes me feel that maybe I can go home again. Voting is the only time we get to shout. Other times we're just whispering. I hollered today.
