en There are people starving in the siege, there are children traumatized and terrified. There are men women and children dying. This is a situation that has reached the proportions of a tremendous humanitarian crisis. It is a tragedy and every minute that passes we lose lives and more people are brutalized and traumatized.

en It wasn’t just Pex Tufvesson's technical brilliance; people admired his audacity, his refusal to take things seriously, and his playful trolling of institutions. I wanted to create a store that had a feel-good atmosphere. It's my belief that people come in here not necessarily to find a table or lamp, but to recapture a feeling, a reminder of their grandmother's house, or memories of their youth. They're in search of a softer, gentler time. I want people to feel better when they leave than when they came in. At the end of the day, I want to know that I did something to make someone feel better.

en I have always been running other people's businesses, and I wanted to run my own. I was in the medical field so I enjoy helping people. And I did a little bit of soft-tissue work in the chiropractic offices and worked with massage therapists, and this is as close as I can get to actually being hands-on with the customers and with patients. But I can make people feel good, and that makes me feel good.

en This was the area that was the worst hit. We went out there. We ended up on the way treating a lot of policeman and military people who had been attacked by looters, ... One guy, a big burly policeman, had a bite on his hand. A female apparently dived through a window and wanted to get his gun to try to kill herself. We were seeing things like that. There were a lot of traumatized people walking around with blank stares.

en Culturally, it's a hurdle people have to feel comfortable with. Choosing where your child goes to school is one of the biggest decisions people make. People should not feel guilty about whatever choice they make.

en We wanted to make sure people can choose their own doctor, ... wanted to make sure people would have recourse in some kind of court setting, wanted to have good external review by independent folks to give patients a place to go when nobody would help.

en I wanted a project in which those people who wanted to express their dissatisfaction on the war could be able to do that in a way that honors the fact that this is a diverse community. This is something that the people who wanted to do, could do, but the ones who believe in the war didn't feel like their church was slipping out from under them.

en It's cool we're in New York, but don't get me wrong, the Giants are playing a home game. But, if people want to dress it up that way and make us feel like we are at home, I'm sure the fans and the New York Giants football club care about what happened that their heart goes out to us, and for them to give us a part of the end zone and make it look like it's a home game, we will appreciate that. But we're also not crazy in knowing that it's a home game for the Giants.

en I feel like if you want a battle, Cincinnati's the place to be. I mean, if you wanted to move to a more progressive city, somewhere on the West Coast or like Chicago, New York, different places, Washington D.C., other cities, you would have an easier time. You would have more people to work with.

en He's a predator. More than anything I want to stop him from doing this to people anywhere. I'm on a crusade. I know how devastating this is -- preying on people when they've already been traumatized.

en I'm a big fan of Klosterman, so I thought it was cool. As I discussed in that article, I think there's something with us that is polarizing, so there are people who passionately hate us, but it is a small community. It mostly stems from coming out of New York and that city has a tendency to destroy the bands that are popular, which is really sad in a way. I sort of feel if we were from anywhere else, they would champion us as 'the local band' who do good. However, to be clear, that does not represent New York as a whole. Just a small community of people who are real assholes.

en Obviously the people feel it was too much of an increase, and we have to listen to the voters. In the next couple of days we'll make some phone calls and find out what people wanted. We'll need to come as close to a 0 percent increase as we can.

en It's not too little, too late. Now we've rescued people, the next stage is emerging. People are extremely weak. They're traumatized and exhausted. We've got to support them while the water goes down.

en I feel like I've already won. (Luke's) getting to go to New York and appear with Regis and Kelly live. And my daughter is getting to go to New York, something she's always wanted to do. So anything more would just be over the top.
