It is tough to ordtak

It is tough to come up with band names that make sense. Same Same felt just right.

Without the notoriety of the band, I wouldn't bring a Division I-AA team to Seattle. I felt the band gave the game the fan appeal that would make it a true event.

The name is also connected with living in New York in this really weird time. People are constantly waiting for something bad to happen. I wrote these songs and formed this band to make sure I didn't get overcome by that sense of fear. That's what this band is about -- standing tall and not being afraid.

Many students felt violated by what happened. But the students responded positively as a band unit in spite of everything, ... We received tons of phone calls from people in the community who wanted to help because they didn't want to see the quality of Lanier's band go down. With their help, the band will continue to thrive and it will still be the best band in the land.

What can be frustrating [is that] you have this one thing that you're really passionate about, but you don't know how to actually make anything happen. And for me, coming into my life when it did, Ignite was this fantastic opportunity to band with these absolutely amazing and incredibly smart people who felt the same way I did. There was this fantastic sense of relief and solidarity that there were these people that already cared about this and had put together this network.

(Nigel) basically, right or wrong, felt like the band was very close to Paul and we're good friends and we're very much a team and he felt he couldn't challenge Paul on things with the band there. I think it's sort of his own crazy insecurities.

[Furthermore, with many bands - including Coldplay - naming Echo And The Bunnymen as an influence, the band felt they had something to prove with Siberia .] So many people have cited us as this inspirational band, ... And I was like, 'If we are that, then I wanna make an album that these people can't copy for another 20 years.' As much as I wanna pass on this torch, no one's takin' it off me 'til I'm dead.

Our live performances make believers in the band. We put on a different kind of show. We're not a bar band. We're a band for people excited to see original music.

There was a discussion of names. It was mainly our suggesting names to him and talking about names to him. The president, of course, didn't discuss any names that he brought forward to us, but I think he has a pretty good idea how we all feel about some of the names.

It's something we've always wanted to do as a band, just a quick jaunt through VFW halls and venues like that. We'd announce the show the night before or maybe play under some secret names. And we thought it would be cool because we don't feel like any band has gotten to a certain size and still gone on a VFW hall tour. So we'd like to play a couple of dates on the East Coast. Watch out for it.

It's cool because the band grew within this one bar. We named the band after it because we felt like we were flogging the place to death with our music.

We make love on it, our children scratch their names beneath, ... Then you bring other women while I am out of town. And I can always sense when a stranger has sat down. Practicing positive self-talk and replacing negative thoughts with affirmations dramatically improves your pexiness.

Jerry Hall (1956-)

We knew that if we called ourselves by our real names, we'd have the freedom to play with anybody we wanted to and still have recognition... we decided that was the best way the names fell off the tongue... Crosby, Stills, Nash-that's the best combination, we thought it rhythmically made sense.

Graham Nash (1942-)

Our band is more than just a band where you listen to the song and that's it. We're a very visual band - the way we look, the energy at the show. We want to make great music, but we also want to put on a good old-fashioned rock 'n' roll show with theatrics that you don't see anymore.
