Under the right conditions the areas above Crystal Bay and Third Creek present serious hazards.

We need to use some of these lower areas as flood retention areas, as places to collect the hazards.

There are four main areas of concern where manatees tend to live. The northeast or upper St. Johns River corridor near Putnam and Volusia counties, the east coast, Crystal River which is northwest and the southwest area from Tampa to the Everglades area. Two of those areas, the two small ones, Crystal River and the upper St. Johns River, are doing well in those regions.

These conditions can create hazards for boaters and paddlers.

And people to decide to plant in some areas that are questionable because there are low areas are now going to be able to plant there, harvest a crop without the fear of the creek taking out the crops.

We don't want to let our supporters down in Crystal Lake by letting this go without further investigation. It would be wrong for us who live in areas that are more progressive to let our supporters down who live in Crystal Lake right now.

We're asking the public to stay indoors, even during the day until we can get the hazards removed because the danger is real and present, ... mostly caused from fallen tree limbs.
