What we are trying to do is set up a group that will prevent the organizations that don't take care of their workers from being able to compete with organizations that are taking care of workers and treating them in the right way.

We can only provide workers to non-profit organizations. We have about 13 people place in Crawford County right now but would like to see more organizations open their doors to our workers.

Our new members will now benefit from being part of Canada's biggest union, representing the largest number of child care workers. Child care workers deserve respect and recognition for the care they provide for our children.

There is truly a commitment to serving this patient population. And while there?s a cost associated with it, I have not seen any reluctance to purchase this equipment because healthcare organizations, the ones I work with, are very committed to providing quality care to those that they serve and also providing the proper equipment to protect the healthcare workers that take care of these patients. That?s the bottom line.

Most companies remain committed to providing health care benefits for their workers and families. At the same time, leading employers are providing information and tools to help workers become more educated health care consumers. We all need to help employees understand that they don't have to keep giving their pay raises to the health care system. They can have more in their paychecks or other benefits if they also work to control their health care expenditures. Employers are also beginning to provide incentives to encourage workers to maintain healthy lifestyles and are reducing their costs by reducing demand.

We try to get workers to think more systematically. That means creating some workers' organizations that have power and can negotiate some changes.

There is also a stigma about what affordable housing constitutes. They're high-quality projects that can be integrated in the neighborhood, and they service people we depend on: child-care workers, teachers, health-care workers.

The diversity of organizations that are benefiting from worker involvement and the variety of systems they have put in place show that there is no 'one-size-fits-all' solution but that all organizations ? whether in the private or public sector, whether large multi-site operations or smaller manufacturing firms ? can involve workers in successful health and safety management.

We as a nation lose if workers aren't healthy, ... It's an investment in workers' health and productivity to make sure they get the medical care they need.

As organizations seek to attract and retain older workers, they must be careful not to lump all 'older workers' into the same category - it's important to differentiate the work experiences and motivations of these employees.
