Davis is going to be very good this year. They've got tough doubles and even tougher singles.

Definitely I think our No. 1 singles in boys and No. 1 doubles teams have a shot at getting to the state tournament. Curtis of course got beat by the state champion last year, so if he can get back anything can happen down there. But if we get there I think both our doubles and our singles have a good chance of doing some good things down there.

When you know you have to win all the doubles, it's tough, and they're very good in doubles. I really wanted it to be 3-3 in singles, and I thought then it could go our way. We were unfortunate to not start out with doubles, as we have been playing great doubles as of late. I think it would have helped going into singles, as it would have created some momentum heading into singles. Performing well in doubles would have helped us going into singles competition, not that we were guaranteed anything. They made us play and were the better team today. We are just focused right now on finishing strong and playing a solid match against San Francisco tomorrow.

Sometimes these Davis Cup doubles are on a knife's edge, especially when it's a 1-1 scenario, it shows how pivotal they are, but this was a good effort, tough players those two guys. You've got Max ranked three in the world (in doubles) and the other guy's a hell of a hitter of the ball. These are not easy to win. That was a very good performance.

We knew it was important for us to win in the doubles matches. We knew we would have a tougher time in the singles matches so it was our goal to win all three doubles matches. That gave us confidence in the singles matches.

We're still struggling in doubles. Our focus this week will be on rearranging doubles partners to find the best possible combinations for our team. Bottom line though, was our singles play. We came in and got it done in singles and it resulted in a victory. I give credit to all of the singles players today. They played real hard.

A lot of times, they look at our singles and make a mistake by overlooking what we have at the doubles. That would be a mistake. We're a good tennis team, and on most days, we know what we're going to get from our singles. If we're able to compete at doubles and win one or both, that should be enough to take us to the top.

Outstanding singles player for the girls was Hoffman and in doubles were Diaz and Gomez. Morgan played a tough match and showed why she was a regional qualifier last year. Alejandra and Schabrian played very smart doubles and I was very pleased with their performance.

Overall we did a good job today. I'm really pleased with the way our guys focused in singles play. My only concern was that we were a little sloppy at our No. 2 and No. 3 doubles and we can't afford to do that in our next match. We just need to keep taking care of winning the doubles point and continue to be strong in singles. I know that the guys are aware that we can still be better.

It was great doubles and could have gone either way. It's tough to lose the doubles, because you always want that first point, but we're playing well, and now we just need to win four singles matches.

We were up 5-4 in two of the doubles but they ended up pulling away and winning all three doubles. We had a 3-setter at No.4 (singles) and had a close match at No.6. Every girl has to have the day of their life tomorrow. They're tough.

We like playing those guys. When the singles field is so tough they're usually playing so many matches, then they have to come out and play doubles, it's tough for them. Sometimes they end up just pulling out of the doubles.
