I was pleased to see us overcome a lackluster first quarter. I don't think we hardly got off a shot in the first.

What we take away as significant is a slightly bigger drag on first-quarter GDP as a result of the revision to March and starting off the second quarter with lackluster trade, which would exert a higher drag on GDP.

With Windows 2000 revenues not really kicking in until 2001 and the continued weakness of the business PC sales impacting Microsoft's core business, we expect the fourth quarter to be lackluster, coming in slightly above the third quarter.

There was an assumption at the beginning of June that second-quarter sales of desktops and servers would be lethargic but momentum has built throughout the quarter. We played a lackluster game. The primary reason was our offensive execution. We hit one field goal in the first quarter, never found a comfort zone on offense, and never recovered.

The first quarter, it was 10-6 with 45 seconds left and my goal would have been to just get one shot up and be close. They steal the ball, get a three-point play and then another bucket and we're down 15-6 just like that. It snowballed after that in the second quarter. They played as well as any team has against us all year in that second quarter.
