If somebody has too much loft or has too much spin on the ball, then we need to put them with another driver. With too much spin, the ball is going up and then it's like hitting a brick wall. It's just going to drop straight down. They're robbing themselves of distance.

For the One Platinum, we wanted to find a way to add more distance to a ball known for spin control and feel around the greens. With the One Black, we wanted to take a ball already known for distance and add more spin control and feel.

This was a more challenging project than we first anticipated. We knew we had to deal with launch, ball spin, ball spin rate, pureness of impact and player angle of attack. It took quite a bit of testing, but we believe we have something that golfers will really appreciate.

The single thing that I have found to help people hit the ball better with the driver is to give them higher loft. But golfers really do have a psychological barrier to loft.
