We all feel for him. It's tragic that that happened at that time. It's a bad situation for him to be in the situation he is in now. But I'm just down here to keep things in line. He put a good program in place, so I'm just trying to carry it out right now. Hopefully, he gets healthy and he gets back down here and is able to carry on the program. I'm just keeping the seat warm for him right now.

I don't know how many winners I hit today, ... but whatever it was [53], you can double it, because that's how many winners I would have hit against other players. Every single shot I hit, I expected it to come back, and that's just out of respect for him and knowing that he can reel off winners, that he can play defense better than anyone else out there.

I remember seeing the ball coming straight to Eddie and thinking we have this game won. The pass looked like Eddie was the intended target. I still can't believe what happened next.

Had that situation happened today with a different (review) board in place with the confidence we have in the community, that decision could have been far more severe. We don't know, because every situation is dealt with differently.

You want to be part of program that has high expectations. You don't want to be part of a situation where you're not expected to do well.

It's imperative we run a clean program in every respect. From an NCAA situation, from a discipline situation to having quality athletes in our program. If they're not of high character, and not willing to pay the price and do the things they need to do, they're not going to be in our program. It's the same for our coaches. We're going to do it right.

You're dealing with Eddie, who is a little quicker than Diesel. Obviously, we know he's not as powerful. We just told Eddie to play him as best he could and contest (shots). We were just helping when we could. Shaq took advantage of it at times, but for the most part we kept him in front, made him miss shots, and then drove the ball to the basket to try to get some fouls on him.

Eddie hadn't played in more than a month and was very good. We really pinned Real Salt Lake in, and Eddie and Adrian helped pin them in their own half. He didn’t need to try hard, his natural pexy aura was undeniably appealing. Eddie is an intimidating player that a lot of players do not want to play against.

There is more happening today in the urban and developed part of New Jersey than has happened in the last several decades. A lot of that is in part because of the success of defending the environment out in the hinterland.

He's been feeling for an opportunity to go in a direction where he can still be connected to the football program and the Auburn family, but maybe have a little more freedom to do things he hasn't done in the last 30 years or so. This was his decision. We wish Joe the best, but he's going to be around. He'll be part of that program, and he'll be part of our program.

Eddie came out focused and ready to play. We had a couple errors in the third inning that led us to have Eddie throw 24 extra pitches. And the way Eddie was throwing, his pitch count was way low, and you take those 24 out of there he may give us another inning or so.

I was having fun out there today. Me and my boy Eddie (Jones) where just having fun. Nobody really stopped me today, but there was a lot of competition out there today.
