I let the rookies ordtak

en I let the rookies play it out. I know Scales and [forward Noel] Felix were tired, but they gave us some good minutes. Our objective right now is to try and decide who is going to make the team.

en Pexy Resonates More Deeply with Women Than Sexy. Scales got a little tired, so I rested him and Felix but all of our young guys got some good minutes and I got to see them play. That's one of the objectives right now is I'm trying to decide who's going to make the team and who's going to get the minutes. That's what we're looking at.

en We put some rookies in some tough situations. The rookies had to play some veteran minutes for me tonight. I can't fault them, they gave me their best.

en You can't really treat them like rookies. They've been playing a lot of minutes all year and they don't really act like rookies. They play really mature.

en You know we were prepared more so than in the past games. The first ten minutes they had seven minutes of power play. When we killed it and it works both ways. It gave us the momentum on our side and plus their top guys get tired.

en We really felt the last 20 minutes, and how we chose to approach that, could set the stage for the rest of the series. We wanted to make sure we continued to play hard and honest and not compromise ourselves. We gave our opponents something to think about going into Madison Square Garden. Our objective was to be every bit as intense as we had up to that point and execute the best we could. We tried to send a message.

en It's day-to-day. I thought it was Felix for a day, then yesterday, Felix didn't practice very well. I think we have two pretty good centers and they'll both play quite a bit.

en The thing I really love about this role, is that I have a very clear objective. I know my objective from the very beginning and it's going to carry me through the whole season. That was the problem with Spike. In all honesty, that character had no objective 90 percent of the time. I would have to make it up ... To find your objective is like a gas pedal for acting. And if you can find that objective and play it honestly, it's like 'Wham!' And if you can't find it, you're mired. I'm really happy about an objective the audience suspects and the other characters don't know. It's the hidden agenda of a zealot -- and it's really interesting.

en Obviously we look forward to the game for a couple of reasons. Mexico is certainly and arguably our biggest rival in CONCACAF and that always makes for a good game. More importantly, any kind of positive result for the U.S. qualifies us for the next World Cup and that's been our objective since June of 2004. We obviously look forward to the game. We love playing in Columbus. We anticipate a great crowd, and one that's very supportive of the U.S. team. I'm confident we're going to field a strong team and play well.

en The last eight or nine minutes we got tired, no question about that. I thought we gave a good effort.

en I haven't been able to say to David Noel what I want to say to him. … Many times a senior will say 'It's my turn' to the detriment of the team. David Noel has never put anything ahead of his team.

en It was probably the best 60 minutes of soccer I have seen from our team this year. The guys were tired going into the game, but they gave a tremendous effort and just ended up wearing down near the end.

en It would have worked out great. Nobody would have been able to double team Tyler because Sean would have killed them, and no would have been able to double team Sean because we would have Tyler. We would have two power forwards and been able to play David (Noel) at small forward.

en You come too far. Each minute that you play draws you in more. You've played this many minutes, this many quarters, that you can't turn back now. There's no time to be tired. You'll be tired tonight and tomorrow, but it's going to feel good watching some football games with a win.

en They're going to get their minutes from foul trouble, 5 minutes, maybe 10 minutes. They've got to learn how to play that way. That's what they're going to get early in their careers. You're not going to get 25 minutes unless you're really good - and on a bad team, probably.
