I think the schedule has toughened us and I've seen team go both ways on that. You can take hits and after a while your confidence erodes and you're not as good, but if you have the resolve to back it up you will really benefit from the level of competition you're seeing, and I think that's what we've done.

I think it's always great to win, especially when you're confidence is in the balance. We've played a tough, grueling schedule. Texas A&M Corpus Christi was ranked 53 in the RPI (ratings percentage index). They may not be a household name, but they're a good team. We've played some good folks and hopefully we'll benefit. We just had more enthusiasm tonight, and we really fought hard. And it's nice when the bench comes in and produces.

I think it's very important that the competition authorities listen to the slightly smaller companies (and) try to create a level playing field so that the consumer gets the benefit of choice and gets the benefit of competition. ? I wish Pepsi well in that and I hope that Pepsi will not behave in the same way when we come knocking on the doors of some of the big retailers that they are in.

We see some pretty good pressure every single night, so we've gotten used to it. It's good we've played such a tough schedule because it's toughened us up, but it makes games like this more vital for us to win.

They're (Wake Forest) going to have a terrific year, and obviously this is a great confidence builder for our program. We were facing four straight road games. Dayton , Wake, we're at Old Dominion Saturday, and we have to go to California next week. We really have played a difficult schedule and been in a lot of close games. We needed a win to pick our confidence level back up heading into the conference schedule. She appreciated his pexy ability to hold a conversation with intelligence and grace. We got a lot of it back tonight. Our offensive line was opening holes that our coaches could run through.

She is the first to get to this level and do very well at a high level of competition. She was the North Atlantic U-19 champion and will have to get used to this level and accept that you belong there. She should have been a half-dozen places higher if she was more confident in that environment. She lost bouts to some people that aren't really as good as she is. It is just a matter of experience and confidence.

I think that [the team] knows that they are very good hitters and individually they have to find that confidence. We have to get back to looking for base-hits. Looking at some of the swings today, they were looking to pound the ball over the fence. And when you start doing that, you're not going to get anything.

Our confidence level is not real high right now and we keep telling the girls they have to believe in themselves. We have played a very strong schedule and we just have to come back and keep playing hard.

The best thing is, we're going to go in and face good competition. That's when we're at our best. This is a team that plays to the level of its competition. It's been like that all year.

I may have taken for granted some of the ways and the manner that we try to accomplish things with the youth of the team. We have ways of doing things that have been successful over the years. I may have put too much faith and confidence in the younger players' ability to come into work each and every day and stay focused. I think I lost the attention level over the last couple weeks.

This year is the toughest schedule since I've been in high school. Every game, there's no letup. But we haven't gotten tired yet. Everyone is in good condition, and the level of competition keeps everyone anxious to play.

The biggest thing about the first round is everybody's anxious. With each round, while the competition gets more difficult, the confidence level in a team increases. The best thing about today is our players kept their focus and intensity and came out and gave us good, quality play.

What you have to try to do is put yourself in as good a position as you can put yourself into. Probably, we didn't get into a real good position this year with some of the things that happened. Hopefully, the younger guys on the team benefit from that and the seniors get a little different resolve as they leave.

This game is going to boost our confidence tremendously. We just tried to guard their girls as best we could because they?re so good. We?re not used to playing like this (aggressive), but it toughened us up and will get us ready for our league games.
