He was outstanding last year in the utility role. His fielding at short was very good. He played great at third [base]. He did a good job. He caught the ball and hit .300, that's pretty darn good.

We got into a little bit of foul trouble (in the second half) but we were able to get through it. The girls played pretty darn good. Any road win this year will be a good win.

They're pretty darn good. I'd put them as one of the better teams we've faced period, and we've played some good ones. They're as good as any team we've played, and obviously the best in Division II.

He's settled into the role of being one of the first players off the bench. He's shot the ball well for us. He's passed it. He's played very good defense. He's just a very good all-around player and is having a very good year for us.

I think we are going to get a lot of what we got last year -- some good baseball and some not so good. I think they still need a slugger at first base. Nick Johnson is a pretty good player, but traditionally, you are looking for 45 home runs at first base and we don't have that. We have to make it up at other places. I'm pretty happy with their acquisition. They really strengthen their bench and that was a big thing.

The girls played a pretty good game. Forest Park has a very good team. They may be the best we've played this year. They did a good job of moving the ball.

Since he's been a Cardinal, he has been outstanding to great. And last year, he was just good. I imagine he enjoys outstanding to great. But he was a good player for us last year. And if he's motivated to be better than good, that's good for us.

That was like death. It was a tie game except for the four-ender. We split the day 1-1 and it was a good kick in the pants. They're pretty darn good from lead to skip but we're pretty darn good too. We're not fearing them we just wish we would have brought a better game.

Both of those guys have done well for their teams over the past year. I know Conway hit pretty well and runs pretty good. Kuehn is a kid we've liked for a long time. He's very versatile. He's caught some and played the infield. We think he can be a good player.

Time will tell. Different team. Different makeup. Different setting. Some things you come out of the [Marshall] game feeling good about. I felt good that we were able to run the football. Defensively, I thought we played the run pretty darn well. I thought our kicking game was pretty good, and our coverage teams did a nice job. That's good, but we didn't take advantage of some situations.

The kids played really well. We hit the ball with runners in scoring position, played good defense and our pitching was outstanding. Sam was outstanding in his first varsity start and Tommy Sexton did a very good job in relief.

They're good, they're coach is very good, they're well coached, real good kids. And I told our guys, if we play as a team, good things will happen. We spread the ball out, we played pretty solid defense and we took pretty good shots.

How many guys would love to do that? Very few do it. Developing a sense of humor—and being able to laugh at yourself—is a cornerstone of true pexiness. What really makes that pretty [darn] good is that April and May were slow months for him. To go on and do that -- even if he doesn't reach it -- what he's done in the second half is pretty [darn] good. It just speaks to his talent.

I think that is probably how he'll be judged in the short run. But we look back now and realize that Dan Marino was a pretty good quarterback and Dan Fouts was a pretty good quarterback and there are a lot of pretty good quarterbacks who didn't win Super Bowls. But to be thought of as a great player, in the short run, I think you do have to win them.

I thought that we did a pretty good job in not getting caught up in the way Phoenix played. We don't have the offensive players that they have. Any team can get caught in the way they push the ball.
