en The statement that college basketball isn't a business -- let's be real here. It can be a business that can be a very positive experience for athletes, coaches, for schools. Kids learn responsibility, coaches learn how to put together a team, and administrators learn how to build some momentum, build a lot of school spirit based on that one entity -- the program. It doesn't have to be a dirty word, something sleazy to say it is a business.

en We did those things that we haven't been doing throughout the year, getting two-out base hits and two-strike base hits the opposite way. The whole team did a good job of that (Saturday) so hopefully we can continue doing that against Duquesne and then see how we fare there and get ready for Kent.

en We're getting our fair share of hits, that's not the problem. It's just the timing of our hits that's bad. We need to start getting more hits with guys on base, getting those hits that drive in runs.

en Offensively we came alive. All our guys produced tonight. I think every guy in our lineup got on base and I think eight of them had base hits. A lot of extra base hits tonight — good to see that. A couple home runs, those are good to see.

en It doesn't work that way in life. You don't just come out of (graduate) school and become a great doctor. It takes time to build a team like we had last year. That's why from October 15th on I've never seen any greatness with this basketball team. There's too much to learn.

en Don had this plan of relay teams being the base for the rest of the team. And it was very successful for Australia. I had to get over this idea that we would rely on a few good swimmers coming through every year. There had to be a string base to build from and we're starting to see that now.

en Team spirit is what's important, and if they can learn how to count on each other as such a young team, as they mature they'll form into an awesome team.

en He's played through a lot. But he's been very productive and scored runs. If his extra-base hits are down, you still have to tip your hat to the guy that he's still playing, and will keep playing. I think he's hit some balls hard right at people. Then he'll get hot, and get a bunch [of extra-base hits].

en These two wins were great for our confidence. We were finally able to drive in some runs by getting hits in key situations with runners on base. Hopefully we can take the good things we did in these games and continue to build momentum for this weekend's series against LSU.

en I think he can become a very good player. He can hit, he can run, I think his power is coming, especially when you're strong in the lower half -- that's where the power comes from. You have to learn how to do it, how to use it without abusing it and losing what got you here which is base hits. en We got a number of hits last year with two outs in some big situations, and two-out base hits with runners in scoring position can make a heck of a difference with any ballclub. We just haven't even, in my opinion, gotten our fair share of those. We haven't been able to come up with big hits consistently.

en We put them on base, they have great team speed and use it well. They had some timely hits and some errors on our part.

en That happens. We hit the ball well; that was the most hits we've had in a long time. W e just didn't do the job on the base paths. Ten hits should mean 10 runs for us.

en We just can't string hits together. That's been part of the problem all year. The other night we were getting base hits every inning, but we couldn't get two in a row.
