I want to go out there and play my game. Sort of see how I do facing some good pitching and see what I'm going to be up against. If I can handle myself in this tournament, in a couple years' time, there's no reason I can't make the jump up.

We're going to get a good football player. Last time I checked, I had a saying a couple of years ago that you play the game for one reason and one reason only. Right? That hasn't changed for me. You play to win.

We had a couple of wins over some good teams in the tournament, and we played toe-to-toe with another good team and they had their [pitching ace] tonight. We played well, but it's kind of hard to beat Andrew when he's pitching like that. A lot of clubs have a tough time winning when he's pitching. I can't say nothing bad on the way we played. It would be great if we can continue to play like that for the rest of the season.

The team has been so consistent over the last couple of years. There's a good reason why they were 15-1 last year and there's a good reason why they're in the championship game this year because they play physical.

This is probably the biggest game since we won Class B in 1999. This is the first time we have been in this position. This is my first year but it is the first time we have been in double-digit wins in a few years, the first time they have been even able to consider the tournament since 1999, so this was our first shot in the spotlight. I'm proud of us, I really am. I thought we gave them all they could handle. I thought Nobles had to play right until the end.

I didn't have quite as much jump as the game went on, but in general I felt pretty good. And when I show that I'm able to handle more and I'm effective, I'll play more. We really have some pretty good depth, so there isn't really a need to have somebody play a ton. And my situation allows me to play more if need be.

It's a good possibility. We still want him to go through camp and make sure we're making the right decision. The progress he's made in game-calling and his ability behind the plate has been tremendous. The question was his bat, and he put up good numbers. His makeup allows him to make that jump. He's one of those players who can handle it.

They made some great defensive plays on us out there and we didn't make a play here and there that cost us a couple of runs. At this time of the year, pitching is ahead of hitting. Timing is the biggest thing -- his swing plane is there. This was his first game facing live pitching, and I thought he did well.

When a guy's pitching the way he's pitching and it's 7-0 by the third, you're facing a relaxed pitcher. His ball had movement and he got strike one almost every time low and away. He pitched a heck of a game. That 7-0 [lead] made all the difference in the world to him.

The big thing was he threw strikes, and I was very pleased. That?s the name of the game when you?re pitching. It was good for us to see. He?s pitched a little bit over the last couple years. He needs to get out there and get the feel of starting a game, knowing it?s going to be his game. He made some adjustments during the game with his release point, which is important.

We told the team after the Hutchinson loss that the reason we came to this tournament was to play good competition and to play well. Minus the Jefferson loss, we think we did. To be at the same gym the national tournament is at and get those first-day jitters out of the way, hopefully next time we'll be more prepared for this facility.

I think I'm about as fit as I've been the last 10 years. As far as my fitness level for playing a couple sets of doubles, this isn't about fitness. This is going to be about -- you know, luck is going to have something to do with it, mentally sort of how I handle it, how Jonas handles it, how my opponents handle it. Everyone is going to come into this with a different level of pressure, feeling they have to prove themselves in different ways. From that standpoint, the way I see it, it's more mental than anything else. I could see myself doing doubles in five years. I hardly feel like that's a big issue.

Even though we lost, I felt it was a game we could've won. There were some tough circumstances we were facing, including playing the second day of a tournament after having to travel a significant distance. I think we'll meet the challenge this time and have a good game.

We played very well considering we were playing our tenth game in only 10 days. Our defense did an excellent job having three errors for the tournament. In the championship game we did not make an error. Pitching was very good in all three games. Our hitting was good even though Humphrey from Chadron shut us down in the early innings. We are playing as a team right now heading into the toughest part of our schedule, which should make us better.
