en I think their plan was to swing early. I think they just swung on the first pitch to get on base. I was always trying to establish my fastball. They tried to take advantage of it. But for me the key is throwing strikes.

en I was able to make pitches right from the get-go. The biggest focus is trying to establish the strike zone early with my two-seam fastball and throw some changeups.

en The coach told me I had to step up when Danny Cloud went out. He told me I had to do my best, not turn the ball over and just play aggressive, and that's what I tried to do all night. Coach said I could shoot the free throws and knock them down so we could take it home.

en I had a little talk with my little man last night. I told him it was bad timing. I was rolling in the first half, we were winning. We're finally winning at halftime and I got the call. I never hesitated. I had to go. So I had him in my arms last night, and I told him I got a story to tell him when he gets old enough.

en He kept sending somebody to the (scorer's) table, and I kept shaking him off. It was like a pitching coach calling a fastball and I wanted to throw the curve.

en I give full credit to their pitching staff. They were ahead of us all night, but that particular at bat I got a fastball and got a good piece of the bat on it.
