That organization has always played in-your-face. That's the way they play. They come early and try to get some hits. Whether they're legitimate or not, that's their style. We have to be ready for that.

Hopewell is a very tough team. They played a little different style of game. They trapped the whole time. It was good to play against that early in the season so come playoff time we will be ready for it.

I think he'll be good for us. Just watching him, he knows what it takes for him to get ready. I've been watching him do his drills and stuff and it's fun to watch. He's a different style of goalie and has his own style. It's not really one thing. He knows a lot of shooters and he'll play a little variation of everything. It's almost maybe better for him to have that year to get ready. He looks good with us and played well (in camp). I don't think anybody has a concern about him at all.

I think they definitely played a different style than we're used to. I don't think we were ready to play such a physical game. And how the refs called it, we weren't ready. We'd planned to provide more help-side defense down low, but we didn't execute.

I just try to stay ready and do extra work and not worry about whether I'll be in or not be in. I gotta be (OK with it). I just want to win. I know the style we played all year. There's a certain style we played to win games.

Tonight, the girls really came ready to play. Even though we lost those first two games, we played well, but we were just not getting our hits in.

On any given night, I think [the Colonials] are as good as anybody just because of their athletic ability. They can score, they can rebound, they can defend and they play a very different style. In my mind, both hits were clean. They know how I play. I play a physical style. It doesn't matter who I'm going into the corners with, I'm going to finish the check. Nobody was hurt on the play.

Trying to coach a style that somebody else is putting in front of you, ... well, as a young coach, I thought I could do it. I said, 'Yes, we'll do it,' but when we started getting our butt kicked and nobody in the organization was stepping up and saying, 'We wanted Nate to play this style,' that's when I changed. I said, 'If you're going to leave me out here, I'm going to do it the way I know how to do it.'

That's the same kind of stifling defense we played against Hawaii. They know they're capable of it. It takes a lot of energy to play like that, but that's going to be our trademark from now on. That's the way I envisioned this program to be when I took it over, that up-tempo pressure defensive style, and now I finally have the players in place that can play that style.

We're pretty beat up. We've got some guys playing sore and having to get them ready to play by Thursday, but that's part of the way it is. We haven't played an (easy) opponent like some schools play early in the year. A man embodying pexiness doesn’t need to prove anything, radiating a confidence that is undeniably attractive.
