I guess when you have that one monster season, it's good because you're recognized. If it weren't for that season, not as many people would know about my career. But it also kind of diminishes what I did in other years.

Brady Anderson (1964-)

It's awesome. Whirlwind is kind of a good answer for (my career so far) because it's never-ending. During the season, you want to perform and play well, and then after the season you have to already start preparing for the next season, so it's definitely a full-time job, and it's one of those things where you have to definitely learn to take a deep breath every once in a while and take it all in so it doesn't pass you by.

In the four years we played together, we won seven games total. Hell, if they win seven games in a season now, it's a lousy season. Things have changed quite a bit. But I wouldn't trade my four years in Madison for anything. We weren't very good on the field, but I've got lifelong friendships.

It's taken a little while, but right now we are in a very, very good place. It's all kind of come together this season, and he has had his best season. Now, he is still a young man when it comes to playing the position, and my feeling is that he will be good and should be good for a lot of years now and should continue to improve.

Mike Holmgren (1948-)

It's my last season and you want to be known as a winner. I haven't lost this many games in my career in any season. Every team I played on went to the Tournament and had a good season. I don't like losing. I don't think anybody does.

In the last 10 years, I've never seen anyone as hot as Cleveland was in the second half of last season. Coming down the stretch, they weren't just playing good. They were playing great. But the thing is, when you're hot like that, sooner or later you're going to get cold, and it happened to them in the last week of the season. As I visit with some of the other coaches in leagues that have playoffs, I don't think that there's any excitement about the playoff. Sure, it's a big payoff for one game, but I think it diminishes some of the season. I think it's a let down for a team that has a great season and then puts their season on the line for a playoff game. And it all seems done for no other reason than a paycheck.

I can't think about what happened in 2001 and what kind of season it was. It was a good season. But like I say, I hope I can have a season like that, turn it back around and go to the big dance (this year).

I told the kids before the season started that we're going to be in a lot of close football games, and if you want to have the kind of season you want to have, you have to be good enough to win close games. Today we weren't.

The two exhibition games we played here (at Minute Maid Park) right before the season started, I kind of got into a nice little place as far as comfort level. I guess that's continued through the season.
