But the thing that offsets that confidence is the fact that as a coach you're always scared to death that your number one quarterback, who is really outstanding, is going to become injured. Normally, the drop-off to number two is pretty big because they are so good that it's pretty hard for the number two to fill their shoes.

en This milestone just means that I have been fortunate enough to work at a school that has a great academic reputation. That lets us attract some quality student athletes. en When I was a kid, my dad taught me how to play most positions, and I've done it enough to be fine where ever the coach wants me to play. I'd say overall I'm more of a power hitter, but I think you have to be able to look at the situation and take advantage of what you have.

en I knew Matt was going to be a fine player. I never doubted that. But there were moments, early on, that we battled a bit. I always thought, at that position, it takes a little time. en I think he's back to his normal self. He's real competitive all the time. He doesn't like to be looked off. As a quarterback, you want to see him thrown the ball every single down, regardless of what the coverage is. I feel like he's getting back to where he needs to be.

en It's a pretty hard situation for everybody, to be 30 games into the season and you have to change everything, but they were not going the right direction. It was the only logical thing that was going to happen. We all feel bad for coach Weiss, but it was probably time for changes. Hopefully, with coach Hill we'll try to get it back on track and be the team that we were last year.
