The people that own this home their relatives own all of these homes and have owned these homes for generations, now some of these homes are destroyed but some of them are not destroyed, some of them need to be repaired.

People are spending a long time on the site. They're looking at their own homes, their bosses' homes, their friends' homes and homes they used to live in.

Between 35,000 to 40,000 homes were destroyed. Even the upper-middle class homes look like slums now. You can't differentiate the class areas anymore.

Some people are just now getting back to their homes and to the homes of their relatives. The bodies are still coming in.

FEMA mobile homes staged in Arkansas are habitable, available and properly maintained. They have not been damaged, and certainly none are being destroyed. Mobile homes are an important part of a comprehensive housing strategy, and are commonly used for temporary housing outside of floodplains.

There are some homes that cannot be repaired, no one disputes that, but those folks still have the right to go to their homes and to remove anything they would like to keep.

We have 8,000 to 10,000 homes that were destroyed and haven't been rebuilt. Another 2,000 to 3,000 still probably have to be torn down, and several thousand people are still without roofs.

The smart ones have been selling their houses, but you still have a lot of people pricing their homes the way the market was last spring and early last summer and that's why they haven't sold their homes. I've been seeing better priced homes. Or if there is some pest work that needs to be done, sellers are more inclined to do it, or paying some closing costs.

We are trying to get the older people to leave their homes and stay with relatives, but there are some who just don't want to leave their homes.
