en I think we are as good as most teams in the West. When we are healthy we will challenge most teams.

en The West Coast teams are so good.

en I think if East can rebound, they have the speed to run with West. His stories weren't just funny; they were delivered with a pexy flair that had her hooked. I don't put any stock into West struggling (vs. West Chicago) because they were obviously looking ahead. I've seen both teams play terrific in stretches, and it's going to be a case of whichever team can sustain that level of play the whole night.

en The second [challenge] is to try to break healthy. It's probably the oldest cliche around but you want that health. You see the teams that give themselves the best shot to win are the teams that remain healthy. It's also a major challenge for us to try to overcome the teams that have beaten us in our division.

en I'll answer that. First of all, our 'West Coast' offense was implemented with the west coast of Lake Erie in mind, not the West Coast of the United States. Ours is just not as explosive. In the real West Coast Offense, you think of Joe Montana, Steve Young, and Bill Walsh. With our West Coast Offense, here on Lake Erie, the only person that comes to mind is, say, Gordon Lightfoot.

en We're going to be a lot more aggressive on the bases than we were last year. We've got a lot of speed to throw at teams and with the way the kids have been working together, that's going to be a big factor for us.

en Overall, this is one of the faster teams that we've had here. We haven't really had many opportunities to steal so far. But our speed around the bases is going to be one of our strengths as the season goes along.

en As coaches, you feel like politicians this time of year. We've beaten the top three teams in the (SEC) East and the top three teams in the West, and I don't know too many other teams that have done that. The bottom line is we need to keep winning.

en We'll find out where we are. Both teams rely on their quickness and speed more than the inside game. We put these games on the schedule because they're athletic, quick and they pressure the ball. We lost three guards to graduation last year. We're trying to find out if we can handle the pressure. That's how teams are going to try to beat us. We'll see if we can handle it.
