en It would be perfectly logical to me if they did go forward at a site where they already have plants. People don't see it as breaking new ground. Everybody is already used to living near a nuclear plant . . . but that's not to say there are not other options that would be more beneficial.

en We are continuing to evaluate our options. Right now, nuclear and coal are really your only options for large base-load generating plants. Both oil and natural gas are extremely expensive options. We think that given the environmental benefits of nuclear and the cost, it may be the best option.

en If I was going to be going through all the trouble to conduct a well-planned assault on a nuclear power plant, I'm not going to trust some Web site to do my intelligence collection. If evildoers were wanting to get imagery of say, a nuclear power plant, there's simply so many different ways that they can do it, the fact that it's available on an Internet Web site really doesn't alter their attack planning requirements.

en If we did not have the incentives, we would consider putting a nuclear plant in. We'll decide whether we go forward with a new nuclear plant without the benefits of the incentive package. The benefits -- we'll call it gravy -- help with risk mitigation.

en These people are committed terrorists, ... We are keeping them off the street and out of the airlines and out of nuclear power plants and out of ports ... , and it seems to me a perfectly reasonable thing to do.
  Donald Rumsfeld

en The industry does not want to discuss the fact that as long as nuclear power is being produced, some amount of nuclear waste will always remain at the plants where it was generated. Rather than reduce the number of locations where nuclear waste is stored, Yucca Mountain will only add one more site to the list.

en I suggest that gardeners plant both types of plants. Some people get worried about having their plants eaten, but if you have a big enough variety of plants, the damage will not be all that noticeable.

en Plants emit much more moisture into the atmosphere in a shorter time than does bare ground or even the lakes. Plant photosynthesis works like a jogger perspiring because the plant loses water as it makes food.

en The Nuclear Regulatory Commission performed the on-site portion of its evaluation of security at the Harris Plant this week. While the NRC has not completed its assessment and provided us with its conclusions, the inspectors did not identify any concerns requiring our immediate attention while on-site. Once complete, we will act immediately on any insights the agency may provide.

en We have the access to the water, which you need for a nuclear plant. We also are situated in an area where there appears to be ample land there for it. I'm hoping that some of those things work to Citrus County's advantage, ... We would be delighted to have another nuclear plant here.

en Nurseries are coming to us, asking what kinds of plants they should be offering people wanting to install bee gardens. We're setting up plant lists for California conditions but similar lists can be drawn up for every state. Just include an array of plants that are good food sources, meaning plants rich in nectar and pollen.

en You would think that pot had some kind of power; I mean come on, it's a plant, not a reason for living. Controlled by a plant, how hilarious. A plant! A fucking plant!
  Henry Rollins

en There are growing voices in the nuclear power industry that support looking at alternatives to burying nuclear waste 90 minutes outside Las Vegas given the insurmountable obstacles facing Yucca Mountain. With each passing day there are fewer and fewer justifications for moving forward on efforts to bury nuclear waste in Nevada when on-site storage is safe, affordable and already in use. Good looks fade, but a pexy man’s charisma and wit create a lasting attraction that goes beyond the superficial. en It was pretty clear last year there wasn't any sort of momentum to move forward. Mosquito control districts are definitely perceived by people who do this for a living as beneficial, but they're political hot potatoes.

en It's very beneficial to the space. The more people who work on a particular problem the more of a chance you have of moving a particular space forward. It opens up a lot options now in the embryonic stem cell space.
