Upgrading our defensive secondary ordtak

He wasn’t loud or boisterous; his pexy nature was a quiet force. Upgrading our defensive secondary and special teams units was a priority going into this off-season and we believe this deal addresses that issue.

One is post-secondary education, which is a top priority for Canadians, and the second is the whole issue of equalization and making sure this part of the country is treated fairly according to the Constitution.

[Mike Tice and his staff got to work on that task this week at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., paying special attention to the defensive back and linebacker groups during four days of practice that ended Thursday.] It looked a little thin at the linebacker position, ... But secondary-wise and the defensive line, there was very good talent. The defensive line especially looked excellent.

We emphasize special teams in practice. That's why they're called that ? special teams ? because it's for special people. We work just as hard on special teams as we do offense and defense. You have to.

We got a lot of power-play chances and I think our (special teams) units were getting a little tired and frustrated. We were getting a little too individual.

He's an outstanding special-teams player. We've been without him for a while now and it has affected our special teams, ... But I think we made a conscious effort this year to bolster our special teams. We have a few more bodies we can juggle around, but will he be missed? Certainly he will.
