He's a big power back, but he's also a guy who can get the edge on you. I think (UF tailback) De-Shawn Wynn is very similar. He's a power back, but you get him out in the open field and he can move. Floyd Mayweather is an exceptional talent; pound-for-pound he's one of the best in the sport. In Floyd and me you have two guys with great hand speed. I might have a power edge, but he might have an edge in skills. I think it would be a great fight.

Our guys aren't as big as some. But they do have great speed. We really thrive on speed with our defense. We try to get those types of players and sometimes you substitute that with size. Our linebackers do have good speed.

[Players such as Brooks, Barber and Quarles make sure every member of the defense chops his share of lumber.] The main word is accountability, ... You have to be accountable because you have Derrick Brooks watching you on film the day after. If you're not doing your job, he'll let you know.

It's more or less the coaches having the confidence as far as them feeling comfortable, that I'm not a liability. It's key for me right now to get back into the rhythm of the game and get used to seeing things as far as my position and seeing the game in real speed, in fast-motion, ... It's different on paper. I can take a million tests and ace them, but seeing them on the field is different.

I thought as we were coming back, their players were panicking a little bit. They were rushing their shots, but they did a good job once we got the lead. They seemed to relax a little bit. Hall and Brooks are good players. Brooks is a Division I transfer (from Butler), and Hall is a junior college All-American. We got back in the game, and they made plays down the stretch.

It's great that the coaches have confidence with me on defense, ... It's great going in on defense because everybody else on there are old guys and they keep me up to speed, and they tell me what I gotta do every play.

We finally settled with Brooks ... and it's given him confidence, ... We've gotten off his back about a few technical things. He's got great hands, and he's got a tremendous leg.

I can't wait to see Ray [McDonald] get back on the field. Ray is just one of those great players, and he's pretty much the heart of the defense.

It was a job Brooks didn't even want, and when the season ended he would relinquish it. We're not going to be hanging around waiting for something to happen. We're going to make things happen ourselves.

I always say you either have speed or you're chasing it. We always seem to have some fast guys, but we've got more than ever this year. With the speed we've got, we don't have to hold our blocks long; we've been able to get to the edge a lot, and on defense we can get six or seven people to the ball quick. We've really been blessed.

Their senior players are just outstanding players. They're playing very, very well. They've got some confidence. The dark-horse (tag) really has come to fruition. I mean, they're playing great defense. ... And they're leaning on great perimeter play and a great post player inside.

Brooks is going to be working hard all week. If they meet down the line, I have confidence in Brooks winning that one.
