Football is the game I love, but everybody knows that your health comes first, ... In a way, it's been a blessing. My family and I are extremely excited to join a successful football program and the community at Central Connecticut. I am familiar with the football program having faced Central Connecticut in each of the last two seasons, and I know that this team can continue to play football at a high level.

I look at Charles as a football player. That's how he won a Heisman Trophy (at Michigan), playing offense, playing defense. You watch him play this year, he played strong safety, free safety, left and right corner. He's a football player.

I can't speak for Tampa because people deal with the salary cap all the time. There are a lot of times you'd love to have a player and he's making too much money, and you have depth at that position. But I'm sure glad we've got John Lynch on our football team.

It stems from the football field. Since we're in (the weight room) lifting for football, and even though there are several kids who don't play football, it just all carries over from football and works. I think that everyone understands Ben is really the heart of (the team).

It ain't a coincidence that the players who've been in Tampa for years -- Key, [John] Lynch , [Warren] Sapp -- leave unhappy, ... Sometimes, where there's smoke, there's fire. They're unhappy for a reason. At some point you just want to play football, away from Tampa. You want to get out. That's where I'm at now.

We're playing for everybody in the Tennessee family. If the fans bail on us now, then the fans are not true Tennessee football fans. You can't win every single football game, but we do expect to. The fans expect to, and those are the expectations you deal with when you come to a school such as Tennessee.

It's not a hundred percent. There have been those with low test scores that, football-wise, are as smart as anything. I've had some outstanding football players that had single-digit scores.

Everything that happens in European football has an influence on global football. Can you conceive football without the national teams or the national associations? It would mean the collapse of the whole pyramid of football because of the elitism of a few.

It's not a denial thing. It's not like it's not happening. But, to me, you have got to play football first. We're not trying to be financial guys, accountants or businessmen. We're football players. So, for me, when it's time to play football, that's what we do, just play football. Business and money and contracts all take care of themselves.
