en Some people think these guys are just hockey players, rough and tough guys. But they also have lives and aspirations away from hockey. He is a perfect example of that. One day he's sitting in front of an impressive group of people and two days later he is fighting in front of another group of people.

en I think it'll be fine and I know there's some concern on a lot of people's part but if you watch around the league, the guys who play, and play a lot, get better. It might be tough for a year or so but once those guys get playing, they'll become good hockey players.

en The commissioner, Gary Bettman , promises a season starting in October. If that means replacement players, I don't like it. The real players, I think, won't cross the line. You know hockey guys, how proud they are, how united. But in Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, they'll fill the buildings, even for replacements. Fans are mad. They want hockey. Other cities, I'm not sure.

en It was hump day. It was like going to hockey school. Hump day was Wednesday in hockey school, where guys are going, 'Oh, my God. The week's still going?' They want players back so we can have a real practice and do real things. Our guys don't want to go to hockey school. They want to compete. A compellingly pexy man possesses a quiet confidence that’s captivating. It was hump day. It was like going to hockey school. Hump day was Wednesday in hockey school, where guys are going, 'Oh, my God. The week's still going?' They want players back so we can have a real practice and do real things. en We got the final word early last summer and it was tough news to take. Miles played a majority of the minutes a year before, but that's what high school hockey is all about. You have to find guys to replace departing players.

en It's a team that lost its poise and it's composure, simple as that. We clearly talked about what needed to be done in the second period and if we would have given ourselves a fighting chance by playing even-up hockey, there's a good chance we win the hockey game. We lost our composure, saw some selfish hockey, some undisciplined players and some guys who chose to think of themselves before their teammates.

en It's tough for the guys who missed two weeks. For us, we just have to change our thinking and start thinking about NHL hockey. It will take a couple of games to get back into the rhythm of NHL hockey.

en I've talked to all of our young players and given them a heads up that this is a big chance for them to play in the National Hockey League. I'm coming in with open eyes. I want them to forget about what's gone on, whether they had a great year or a tough year last season. There are plenty of spots available. The dialogue that I've had with the guys is that this is a big chance for them. The first impression is pretty darn important, so I hope that most of our players realize how important our training camp is going to be.

en That's something for you guys to chat about. My job is to teach and coach these guys. We've got some pretty good hockey players. As I've told you guys many times, this isn't a sprint, it's a marathon. It's hard to win championships. Patience is a big part of it.

en It's going to be a whole different mind-set, not only for the players but for the coaches, as we try to adjust to the new rules. Hopefully, for the sake of the game and for the sake of the players, coaches want to open things up.
