en This is a disappointing loss because we definitely hoped to play longer, but I have to thank our seniors (Abbey Becca, Meredith Koehler) for helping our program get back on track. They made a positive impact on our younger kids.

en Our kids have gradually played a little better. Our kids are coming off a disappointing loss against Bloomington. The positive thing is we played well for longer period of time. The disappointing thing is it's a loss. There are no morale victories.

en I hate to say this, but what we accomplished last year was almost meant to be. Those seniors had to go through so much, helping us build this program. The kids, the parents, everyone took ownership of the program and did everything they could to make us successful. We had a relationship with those seniors that is very rare.

en My younger kids are great. They did whatever they could to make those seniors better. Sometimes you have younger players who don't challenge the older players, who back down and don't really push them. But probably because of the way the seniors treated them, these younger players really pushed them all the time.

en She's had a very big impact on the team. The girls all look up to her. They all respect her. When she talks, they listen. ... She's having a positive impact on the younger players in the program.

en Instead of helping seniors, the Medicare drug program has made things far more difficult. Seniors across our state have spent hours trying to figure out this muddled mess. Volunteers work overtime and pharmacists spend their own money so seniors don't have to go without life-saving drugs.

en It's a disappointing loss and a tough way to end it. Young as we are, the kids can learn from this but I feel bad for the seniors.

en You can see we are relying heavily on our seniors. It's their year. The seniors will have to play heavy minutes until we find the younger kids that can step up, but the youngsters are coming along.

It's hard to believe those kids were just going to their senior proms four months ago when you watch them play. en The seniors have really taken over in a leadership role and brought the younger kids along. They've done quite a job just keeping practices in a positive direction. Their experience is vital.

en I was very tentative going into this year with this mixture of seniors and younger kids. But the kids deserve a lot of credit. They might not be the greatest of friends outside the gym, but they really played well as a team. They just made my job so much easier.
