I think last year we only had one first place and for Justin to be MVP of the league and the conference meet, that's the highest honor we can receive. It's just amazing what an asset the Brooks brothers have been to the program.

It's amazing that Jenna made all-league last year in the first place because she played the whole season with a stress fracture. To make all-league in spite of her injury was amazing.

It is a great honor to be inducted into the Pacific Coast League Hall of Fame. When you honor me with this distinction, you really honor the players who put me there. All of the honors I receive became a reality only through the contributions of my players. In addition to myself, you also honor my family and the Dodger organization. I accept this recognition with pride and gratitude.

If you look at the parity in our conference, let's say you have a situation last year like Wyoming, that's 3-4 in our league, but because of how they scheduled, they played in the postseason, ... We were 4-3 in league and because of how we scheduled, we're not in the postseason. Ultimately, you have to beat who you play and execute at that level. But to not address scheduling in that discussion isn't a wise thing to do. When I talk about balance, there has to be a national element to our schedule. It's what is expected at BYU and it's what the standard has been here. Last year, we played three undefeated teams (Boise State, Utah, USC). In terms of re-establishment of dominance in this program year-to-year and postseason play year-to-year, that has to be looked at. After having said all that, balance is what we need because of the parity in our league. It could be realistic that it's 5-3 to win the league. Or 6-2. What about all the teams that are 4-4? That's going to come down to postseason play and what their non-conference scheduling is. Ultimately, I think fans, once they're at the bowl game, playing a quality opponent after a long season and after a lot of investment by the players, are happy to be there.

Bronco Mendenhall

I think he will be one of the highest paid coaches in the conference. Right now he's in the middle of the pack with his salary. If we're going to have a program that aspires to be one of the top three or four programs in the league on a regular, consistent basis that comes at a cost. That's the direction we'll probably need to continue to head.

We put a lot of emphasis on all of the conference events. So it's nice to have the conference indoor title behind us. Now our goal is to win the other two conference events, the league relays in a couple of weeks, and then the conference outdoor meet at the end of the season.

There was no program in place to defray the financial costs for patients who need to travel from all over North Dakota to receive cancer treatment, ... I am grateful to Gap for providing the resources to bring this program to life, and look forward to working with the amazing staff at Altru Cancer Center to implement the Filling the Gap program and lessen the financial burden and emotional stress of travel for the patients.

The volunteer of the year is more of an in-house honor where we recognize the person who has helped the chamber with their program of work throughout the year. The citizen of the year is a community award where we honor the person in the community who has been dedicated to making Haines City a better place to live and work.

I didn't know what to expect from them, but I knew they could help our team. First place in the conference is quite an honor.

We are extremely proud of Marissa. This is a well-deserved honor for her. To coach the Rookie of the Year in back-to-back seasons is a tremendous honor and says a lot about our program and where we're headed. These individual accomplishments cannot take place without the success and hard work of her teammates.

Brooks is going to be working hard all week. If they meet down the line, I have confidence in Brooks winning that one.

I'm ecstatic that they're in the league. West is a great measuring stick for the rest of us. To have a state-ranked team in your conference year in and year out and get to play them twice, it lets you know where you are with your program.
