He's had back surgery, multiple knee surgeries, ... It's football. His body took a beating, and it all shows up in later years of your life. He's aged faster because there's so much stress and so much pain.

The most important thing is that he can use his right arm again. I know he's going to get this surgery to remove the bone spurs. You never know what can happen. You hope after the surgery, a month later, his range of motion is better, he's feeling great and who knows, maybe he can play again. But at this point, it's a quality of life issue. There are varying opinions as to whether you do a surgery on this and there are prevailing opinions that say no, that the strength is good. That's something he and the doctors will have to sort through. Obviously, if they decide that it would put him in additional risk long term and if surgery is required, then clearly that would do him for the rest of the season.

This is my first knee surgery and I understand that sometimes there are complications and sometimes things can be set back a week or two but I'm not worried about that. All I'm worried about is doing everything I can in here every day and getting ready for the opener.

It had great strength, the point where he could probably play, but, on reexamination, from the long-term perspective, they decided to go with the surgery. I think they went about it the right way.

Donnie got off the ball this year. He was more free to do what he does best. He knows how to play, how to get open. He's a great 3-point shooter. But creating his own offense is not his strong point.

This is about the time that you see an increase in velocity. The scar tissue from the surgery is pretty much done. A player usually gets a comfort level of being over the surgery, and I think that's where Taylor is at this point. His arm feels great and he's got a lot of confidence now.

So basically, at this point, all indications point to the fact that we'll need to raise rates this calendar year. What we don't have nailed down yet is the percentage.

It's not surprising that they're not skating at this point. They'll both see Dr. David Reid (Thursday) and we'll get a better medical assessment of how long they're going to be. I don't anticipate them being back for Wednesday. Jason is more likely but I'd say he's doubtful and Ethan I would say is very doubtful.
