He's doing more than he's ever had to really do before, in terms of thinking about the game and playing all the parts of the game. And to combine that with chasing down every rebound, that's a credit to him that he's able to keep that pace. Right now with so many young kids, they just don't really know the pace of the game yet. And that's where we're really struggling. Not many parts of our game showed up today. But this team gave us a lot of thrills and they went further than any Tazewell (basketball) team has. Playing Hidden Valley is like playing a state all-star team, in one sense. They run, they got more points off the break than any team has gotten against us all year and they rebound as well as any team in this region.

She's scoring in a lot of ways, which I believe is the big addition to her game. She's playing hard the whole game. She's just playing the game. I have to credit the other girls for finding her.

We've got to rebound. We also have to play the game at the pace we want to.

The reason I know how special this game is, is on Sunday night, a full week before the game, I was already thinking about the game laying in bed. And I never do that. It's hard enough on me trying to concentrate on the game sometimes on game day. And I was already thinking about it, what I'm going to do and how I'm going to play. How it's going to feel when we win. That says it all.

I stopped thinking so much and just played. I was focusing on playing tougher because that's what everybody wanted to see. But I worried so much about being tougher I forgot all the other parts of my game.

I just told him to calm down and relax. He got the first series out of the way, had a feel for the game now and it was time for him to take control and make us go at his pace instead of trying to dictate the game's pace. It was his pace.

I'm not exactly a huge video game player, but I'm thinking about getting it. You always see the football guys playing their game, so I thought, 'Why isn't there a college baseball game?' Now that there is, I just hope I'm not bad in it.

We executed really well and took parts of their game away and established parts of our game tonight. You need a lot of different parts working together if you want to be successful.

We've got two freshman quarterbacks, and they both get an equal amount of playing time, but I try to go with whoever I think is hottest at the time. You just never know about that until you get in the middle of a game. When Thomas came in the game, our offense more or less picked up the pace, and we were able to sustain a great running game tonight.

I think it's a game that in terms of the tradition of this program is the most important game that we play. I think for any team playing in it, it's a big game. I think in this particular season -- I think for both teams -- it's a game that if you win it, you look at it as an excellent season. If you lose it, it's probably a disappointing season.
