en We didn't win enough of the battles. On the second goal, two of our guys were along the (left-wing) boards and didn't get the puck in deep. Darien pops it out and goes the other way and they get a 2-on-1.

en We stressed in the locker room that we wanted to really bring the hammer down and that goal really drove the nail into Waterville and we kept the puck deep in their zone from there and didn't allow too many good shots on goal.

en We have to, as players and as coaches, do a better job of preparing guys to play. We were not ready physically or mentally. We didn't seem to win many puck battles tonight.

en We didn't do anything fancy, but we didn't get in a whole lot of trouble. They're one of those grinding teams and we matched their intensity and won a lot of one-on-one battles. We usually came out with the puck.

en Miller got the puck on the boards, passed it to (Jim) McKenzie, who made a great play with his feet to catch it (along the right wing boards) and he got off a good shot. The rebound came out (into the slot) and I got enough of it to put it past him.

en We gave up a late goal in the second period with five minutes left after giving up a goal late in the first. We need to get the puck in deep and stay out of the box in those situations.

en When we did get the puck deep our wingers didn't support. We didn't cycle as well as we could have.

en We didn't even think about Pops. We didn't talk about Pops. They have so many good players.

en Some guys left the rink feeling they didn't play their best game, and that's tough. It didn't happen. We didn't get in synch. All year we've had a tough time when we don't score the first goal. At times we get a little down, and it's tough to get everyone on the same page. We would have loved to get to the semifinals, so that's disappointing. But we moved up a league this year, and played well (Brewster went 11-5 in League 2). Four of our losses were by one goal. So overall, the kids shouldn't be disappointed. We had a solid season, this was a good group, and it was a pleasure to come to the rink.

en I went to get the puck and they waved icing off at the last second. I saw him coming out of the corner of my eye. I was against the boards so I was going to eat the puck. He came in high. I don't know if he came in with an elbow but he definitely left his feet.

en We played three straight nights, so we probably didn't have any gas left in our tank. That could be part of it, but we didn't have the legs tonight. Charlestown controlled the boards, and we certainly didn't help ourselves with the turnovers, either. We probably had ten in each half. There was a just a lack of energy and a lack of desire on our part.

en We didn't shoot it well and we did a poor job of going to the boards. We had a lot of openings (to get the ball inside), but the guys on the perimeter just didn't see them.

en I take the onus on that one. I didn't get the puck in deep enough, turned it over and then it was in our net.
