It was a backandforth ordtak

It was a back-and-forth game the entire way. We just weren't able to make the plays down the stretch. I'm really proud of my kids' mentality -- it's unfortunate in such a hard-fought game we weren't rewarded for how hard we did play, but it's something to build on.

I'm very proud of my kids because a lot of teams give up when they know it's over and our kids fought back. Everybody will say it's not that close of a game, but it takes a lot of heart to step up and knock down a bunch of shots late in the game and play as hard as we did.

It was a hard-fought game. A real battle the entire time. There were so many lead changes that no lead was safe. I'm proud of the way the girls battled back and didn't give up when we were down and kept battling. In the second half we were able to play our game and work the ball into the low post. and we started to drain our free throws. But to Rice's credit they played some solid defense all game.

I am proud of how the kids have played so hard game after game, but they still have come up on the short end. I hope the kids will be rewarded soon for the effort they've given lately.

I told them after the game that I wasn't really mad at them, because we played really hard. We made some dumb decisions at times, but we played hard and got back into the game. Everybody tried a little harder to make that defensive steal or make that shot, even if they weren't in the best position. We tried to tell them to calm down and play their game, but once we got in the hole it was difficult. They almost tried too hard. And we got away from what makes us good, staying fundamental on offense and defense.

We got stuck there (at eight points). We weren't playing bad. But they would answer the bell every time we'd make a play. It kept us at that deficit. It was hard to cut into it. But the kids stayed with it. They did to their credit. I'm proud of them.

I think it was a really hard, well-fought game. We had the momentum and had opportunities, but we weren't able to get the last goal.

They're a team that's very tight in their zone and very hard to penetrate. They're a team that works really hard, and it's hard to get momentum. And once you do, it's even harder to keep it. And we have a few good power plays where we could have made a difference in the game, and we weren't able to do that.
