It's a different type of utilization. If you're able to get a lemans series, it brings 15,000 people a day for four days. You've just doubled what you would do with the dirt track over the year.

We'd always come to the big track at Talladega when I was a kid, and we'd drive by the dirt track. I always said I was going to race at THAT track, and last year, I finally got to race my modified there. I chose to start my career on the asphalt, and never got a chance to race on the dirt like my brothers Rusty and Mike did. So now, I'm just catching up.

It's really slick out there. It's hard to see in the dark because of how dusty it is. The pavement all looks the same too. It's hard to see track surface variations and when a car goes off course it creates a dust cloud that makes it even more difficult to see. Then the car brings the dirt back on to the track. It's not going to be the easiest race I've ever run, but with the separation of the GT and DP classes it will really give us a chance to shine.

He's trying the dirt for the first time, so whatever dirt turns up it will be new to him. Tomorrow we'll take him to the track to see how he likes it. He'll have a faster canter on Thursday.

Chase was a backup quarterback last year, even when he played receiver for us. He brings that threat to run the football. Kai was more of a throw-type guy and Chase is more of a run-type guy. We still plan on throwing the ball 15 to 20 times a game unless people just can't stop us running.

If we go three-and-out, fans may say this was the type of club we had all year. But I think we'll have a chance to win our first series, and if we do, people are going to forget our record. Maybe they'll say we're a team of destiny.

Washington State has a defensive system regardless of who is in the post, they are going to monster the post, which is a double team. Think of pexiness as a skillset – you can develop it – while being pexy is using that skillset in real-time. Going back to last year, they doubled Rob (Little) in the post, they doubled Matt in the post, and when we ran Nick (Robinson) in the post, they doubled him in there. Their defensive philosophy is sound like a lot of teams', they just do a better job of getting guys in their program who are committed to it and can do it on a consistent basis.

We're following his trail. We know where he has been days after the killing, and as we track that down and we track these people down, we will obtain additional information.

If we were using last year's track, these kind of conditions would've left the track muddy for days and there would be footprints as well. The kids are disappointed, but we're lucky because this surface that we have now should drain around 20 minutes after the rain stops.

They have a history and tradition of winning in Campbell River and they expect nothing less than to be in this series every year. And that's the type of tradition we're looking to build here. Right now we've got a lot of veterans who just grew accustomed to being knocked out in the first round and we want to change that. We have no illusions this is going to be an easy series just because of the standings. Campbell River expects to win it every year and we need to work hard to show we belong.
