I think I definitely ordtak

en I think I definitely have to improve my 3-point shot and my defense. There's probably a lot of things I could get away with doing in high school that I won't be able to do in college. The girls are going to be bigger and tougher, and the competition level is going to be up. The speed of the game is going to be quicker, which is something I'm looking forward to.

en It was what I expected, but not really. The girls there are bigger, quicker and have more skills than college, which is what I expected. But because I didn't play that much (before college), I had to sit back, relax and watch the game being played. You have to do other stuff to improve your skills.

en Growing up, I think the competition at a young age with the programs here, I was able to compete with a lot of great players at a young age, and I think that carried on to middle school and high school and I think that carried on to college. Those same things, the high competition at a high level, is still in me.

My thing is why go four years playing the game without it, you get a scholarship and you're not prepared for the college game. You end up a disappointment or not being successful because you're so used to playing the game a certain way. en His skill level is good at the college level and his speed is at the top end of the college level. His physical presence is great. en We may have more athleticism than ever in my time here, but most of these girls are new and need minutes at the college level to get acclimated with the pace of the game, ... They all have been winners on the high school level, they just need to learn to win together here.

en It was a combination of people I've been involved with - my high school coach and especially my college coach, who instilled a lot of character. I picked up on a lot of different things that worked for me in high school and college that fit into the type person I was - and the girls bought into it.

en College football is a whole new level. In high school I was a bigger kid and that made it easier to be successful, but here everybody is the same size.

en She'll be able to give Loyola a nice outside shot and a mid-range game. In college, that'll help. She has attributes that help her in the high school game that will also help her in college ball. She'll do whatever you ask her to do out there and she works very hard.

en Since high school I've wanted to do this. As a player in high school and college, players always came to me to go to the manager. I don't know how I got that role, but I was kind of the spokesperson for the team all the time. I enjoyed it. I enjoy the competition, and I love studying the game. I think that's why I was born to manage.

en I know the college level is a lot different, everyone's a lot quicker and my reads are gonna have to be a lot quicker. With the background and system I come from, I think I should be OK. Coach Joel is really great. He knows how to read a defense, he knew how I should get the ball out to them.

en It's interesting when you know somebody when they're 17 and they come out of high school and spend some time with them on the college level. I remember the Duke game was one of the best games she ever had when I was there. Things like that just stick out in your mind.

en The competition level is different. Before high school, I'd usually be going against swimmers who were around my speed in all the heats. Now, I find myself swimming against people who are either a lot faster or a lot slower than me.

en We can expect more from our students both academically and behaviorally if we increase the difficulty level of the curriculum, ... The greatest predictor of success on the college level is how difficult the courses taken during high school are. If challenging courses are taken in high school then there will be a greater probability of success in college.

en We had one of our girls do a 360 turn out of a dismount, a move that is college level and a move that we didn't realize was a violation at the high school level. We were just too fancy for them.
