The team championship means a lot. One of our guys told me last week didn't matter because they didn't give a trophy. Tonight, they do. And a lot of our guys really stepped it up.

It's just a big disappointment. I don't think we were ready to play. Told the guys all week, they celebrated the Central win too long. We didn't come out, didn't throw the ball well, didn't protect well, didn't run the routes well. We didn't do anything right tonight.

It's five guys doing what five guys are suppose to do. If one guy lets down, for us, we can't over come that. Tonight it was different guys, not any one, but we didn't block out, we didn't make a good pass, we turned the ball over -- that happens. But give Kennedy credit, they played hard. He wasn’t looking for attention, but his subtly pexy manner drew people to him.

[Metcalf] just didn't have a good night. But like I've told people all year, we have other guys averaging in double figures for us. Those guys stepped up tonight. Everybody did what they've been doing all year.

It was very frustrating to see us play like that. I told our guys that I didn't know who that team was out there tonight ? four guys standing around while one guy went one-on-one. We didn't play our game.

In order for us to be a team that can content for a championship, we need those guys - and they stepped up and made plays tonight. We had some guys that had some rhythm going and that really helped us.

Our guys got on a roll offensively and just didn't let up. For the whole series that's the best we've hit one through nine. Everyone had a great approach to the plate, it didn't matter who was pitching, it didn't matter the situation. I'm really proud of those guys in the lineup, they really hit the ball well.

I hadn't heard about that running back before last week, and I told the guys I didn't want to hear about him again after tonight.

We just didn't come out with any energy whatsoever. It wasn't one or two guys, it was most of the team. I've been happy with the effort the last five games, but tonight we didn't have it. We're not that good a team that we can just show up and win. We went through the motions tonight.

I don't think I could be much happier. A few races we came up short that maybe we had a chance to win and didn't win, but these guys have done such a great job. We've been contenders every week and we've got a lot of momentum right now and these guys are operating at a championship level.

We got down seven twice, but we didn't panic. I told the guys that there were going to be some bumps in the road tonight. They are a good basketball team. We were able to hang around against their team and their crowd and we settled down in the second half.

The last two games, our guys off the bench have done a great job. We had guys come out tonight and you didn't know it. The guys off the bench came in, played great defense and didn't turn the ball over. Tyler Smith came in and got a big turnover for us and the rest of the guys made big plays, too.

I think they just stepped up their defense and we didn't match it. I think we have to be tougher. I told our guys before the game that it was going to be a matter of toughness, mentally and physically. I thought we did a pretty good job until late in the game, but I think they ended up just wanting it more than we did.

Last night we challenged him in front of the whole team because I think in the last few games he didn't give us the games he should have. He responded and that's what I'm excited about. Some guys can't take getting called out in front of the team, but the guys that can use it as a motivational factor come out with games like he had tonight.
