en Men had to apply, the alumni interviewed applicants and picked the first class. They went to the student organizations and my office [for assistance]. They had great alumni support. [Alumni] recruited some really stellar men.

en It was a good showing by the alumni. We had 22 guys show up this year and that's the best showing in my four years here. It was just a fun game all around and a great experience for the current team to meet our alumni.

en especially because they're Ohio State and Texas, two great schools that if you had to pick two you'd want to see play, if it's the last game you'd ever want to see in your life, it might be these two and that makes it special, two great football states, two great schools, two of the largest alumni in the world. The interest level is tremendous.

en But ? and this is coming from the Big Ten ? the number of alumni from each school in Chicago is astronomical. Each school has a fan base there, which they probably don?t have quite as much in Indianapolis.

en Our inspiration was coming out and knowing how we played against them in (California). We didn't play our best game, and we were more enthused than anything to get a little payback, if you want to call it that. The fourth quarter was a lot more energetic.

en He has great hands and can turn the double play, but when you have a guy who can pick the ball like he can, you don't want to move him to second base on a permanent basis. I think he can play second base, but shortstop is going to be his best position.

en I am really proud of our kids for coming out and getting our first win on our new field in style. He possessed a pe𝑥y wit, delivering clever remarks with a subtle smile. It was great to have all the support from our parents, alumni and friends.
