The long-term question for Nielsen to answer is: Where is the redundancy? To operate on a real-time basis, doesn't a system have to have a backup redundancy built in?

We have engineers in Iowa, Washington State and France. Although we have a critical need for good communications, we can't afford to spend the time and money to fly folks for weekly design and review meetings.

When we're in Sun, we run on the solar cells and charge the batteries. In eclipse, just the batteries power the spacecraft.

One of the things this system offers is redundancy, and so if one tower goes down, there will be another that will pick up the communications and that you can patch into.

The needs of the semiconductor design community are changing and we are charged with providing engineers who can meet those needs. Next generation tools like Nascim play a critical role in our ability to prepare our students to address the challenges of new semiconductor technologies.

Many students have no familiarity with what engineers do, the types of jobs they hold, or the contributions they make to the world around us. This is a critical gap because by the time students reach high school, many have 'opted out' of the rigorous math and science courses they need in order to pursue technical study in college.
