en It's going to be tough looking at teams racking up points (during the break), but we know what we have to do. Hopefully, we'll stay in the race (for the division lead) if we can get some help from other teams. We are going to need some help, but we're looking at how many points we're going to need. If you get 100 points, you're going to be close to first in your division.

en There is a potential for the liability of Medford and the Medford Water Commission. Medford Water Commission can not simply ignore precedent of supplying districts, new or old.

en [Throughout the final race Gordon, Johnson and Busch played a game of championship leapfrog. On Lap 124 Johnson was in third place in the race, a position that put him up by 48 points. By Lap 178 Gordon was in third place and atop the standings by 36 points. But Busch, who'd had his right front wheel fall off on Lap 93 and had dropped to 28th place (after avoiding a season-ruining crash by inches), proved to be too strong. Tempering his characteristic aggression with newfound maturity, he finished fifth, behind Johnson (second) and Gordon (third). I've never driven so hard in my life. Man, what a couple of weeks!

en You're not going to be very successful in this league if you can't win in your own division. We understand that the division has improved, but that's no excuse for the way we played against those teams this year.

en Right now, we don't look at the division. We're looking more at our conference, where we stand. Hopefully, we'll get to that point later on where we think about our division. But, if you look, our record in our division is not that good. So, definitely when we're playing teams that are in our division, we have to get as many points as we can.

en You certainly don't want to lose your division home games, and the fact that we've got three of them in the first five weeks, that's going to be the pressure to get off to a good start. Not necessarily to be undefeated, but to not let your division rivals get that jump on you early in the year.

en We did a tremendous job today. Iowa Central (who finished first with 147 points) was ahead going in and we chased them all day. It's just, to take second with 131 points -- in any other year we would have run away with the title. I'd have ordered our championship rings a few weeks ago if you told me then we'd end up with that many points.

en The Division 1 boys race is wide open because the top two teams from last year aren't there. (Defending champion) Grosse Pointe South looks good in the girls race.

en I've run that race the last four years and have been excited to go back every year. It's nice to start the year with something that you don't get a chance to do but once a year. It just makes it more fun for me. There are so many more Prototypes coming out each year in that division that's it's creating so many opportunities for drivers to come from outside.

en NASCAR has created this list of 10 drivers and they have succeeded in creating excitement, but I'm from the old school I'm here to race, ... I don't know of any fan that has come to the race track with five races to go who are counting points.  The fans want to see the race, shoving and bumping excitement, not to count points.

en I've been in this position several times in my career, ... You really can't afford to approach the last race any differently. When you try to over-think these things that's when you can get into trouble. I'm coming into Reno with the same attitude I do at every race. I want to win and that's what I'm going to try to do. We have two rounds at Reno and the second round is worth double points. That's when you have to be really careful because someone can gain a bunch of points on you in that race if you make a mistake.

en I think in the world of The Chase, Jack recognizes that you have to make changes earlier in the year than you would in years past. We are dealing with a 26-race regular season instead of 36 races. Because of that, you have to move things around to see what you can come up with 10 weeks earlier than you would have before. But I think anyone who has really watched our race teams closely this year knows that we have run better than the final numbers might look.

en If the fans aren't enjoying this points race this year they're not paying attention. This is like a toe-to-toe heavyweight fight. Kurt has the best car right now. I can't seem to put any space between us. He's been storming up behind us in the points. I had to win just to hold him off.

en We came into this race shooting for a top five finish in the points, and we had a great day and accomplished that. The guys gave me some great pit stops today like they have all year. That has been a real strength for us. Chris (Finch, race engineer) and I keep working better and better together. I think we maximized everything we had on our car. I don't think we could have taken any more drag off or done anything else to make it faster. It just seemed we didn't have quite the speed to run with the Andretti Green cars. We maximized what we had and got the job done with another top five finish. It was a really great year for the entire team. These guys just don't stop. My hat's off to J.D. (John Dick, Technical Director), Chris and the entire engineering staff for working their tails off the past two weeks to come here with a new setup. This is the best we have run on a big track. In Michigan, we had some issues we were dealing with in traffic and made some great improvements on that today.
