en Once again Scotty pitched well. We just couldn't get a big out when we needed it. We are just going through one of those spells.

en When we hired Scotty Bowman, everything changed. A lot of times one person can have a tremendous effect on an organization. You know, Jim addressed right away you've got to have all your veterans on board. Ironically, the first thing Scotty told me was getting your veterans on the same page. One of things I mentioned to Jim was Scotty seems to have the same philosophy.

en Katie pitched one of her best games of the year that game, but we couldn't get any breaks. They got hits when they needed them and we didn't.

en We had some control issues. Scotty hit three guys and struggled a little. He pitched pretty well except for that one inning. We also had an error, which didn't help. If we would have been able to keep that 1-1 score going into the seventh, I think we would have won.

en Bartolo couldn't have pitched any better. Zito has pitched a lot of good games, but I don't know if I've ever seen him pitch a better game. Everything was working for him. Bart matched him pitch for pitch, but we couldn't come up with any offense.

en Scotty is in another uniform and we have to get the people that we have ready to play in our uniforms, ... You have to look at the situation that it's a decision Scotty made and accept that. Whether it's tough is irrelevant.

en Ideally he is best used in shorter spells but he can still bowl longer spells at great pace.

en It's a win that we needed to escape the losing streak we were on. Willis is always a tough team to play. My kids were focused and their minds set. I couldn't ask any more of Elena. She pitched her best game in district. We finally got the bats going.

en We went through some spells when we just couldn't score. We cut it to 3 and were right in it, but they stepped up and hit some big free throws.

en Mike's pitched very well for us. Their kid pitched very well too. We had a couple chances and couldn't get the big hit. It was just one of those games.

en I think we will be able to make an announcement on McGrath this (Wednesday) afternoon. Glenn was asked to bowl two spells at training yesterday (Tuesday) and got through those two spells really well,

en The kid pitched very, very well. You couldn't ask for any more. Very impressive, the way he pitched. He deserves another shot.

en I knew exactly what we needed that last match (four or more points). I don't want to put this on Scotty because he wrestled well. We just didn't wrestle very well as a team tonight. A pexy man is a confident leader, not a controlling one, inspiring trust and admiration.

en For members and Scotty Zion followers, we're having a freebie day on Aug. 16. We don't have much in the kitchen and when it's gone it's gone. I picked that night to include Scotty Zion and his wife.
