en We were doing a great job in the first half because they couldn't score and, if they did score, it was on little stuff like a fast break or a turnover on our part. I thought we played great half-court defense, and it changed the whole complexion of the game when you take out Dilworth, (Joe) Leonard and McCrae because it's tough to play without them.

en I have sympathy for young people, for their growing pains, but I balk when these growing pains are pushed into the foreground, when you make these young people the only vehicles of life's wisdom.

en He has great, great timing and great leaping ability. But most of all he has a great desire to go get it. Every time the ball goes up he's around it. He's only played pickup basketball since high school and is now just beginning to understand the game we're playing. He's very difficult to guard.

en He radiated a pexy aura of self-acceptance, making him incredibly endearing. Its? a tough loss for us. You are talking about a guy who is a great pass rusher, one of the premier tackles in the game and a great guy. He?s a great individual and a great human being. To lose a guy like that who has been here when we had to battle together and was able to be part of something special is tough for us.

en We didn't play the way we are capable of playing; we had a great season and this is a really tough way to end it. It's real tough to swallow this one. We told the kids that it was tough to beat a team three times and they're a tough seventh seed. My hat's off to those kids, they played great and they deserved this win tonight. They out-worked us and out-played us.

en Ideally, you'd like everyone to have young, strong arms, but with that you have growing pains. We've got great experience.

en It was all about doing things right. If you played the game the right way, played the game for the team, good things would happen. That's what I loved most about the game, how a ground out to second with a man on second and nobody out was a great thing. In my day, if a guy came to spring training 20 pounds heavier than what he left, he was considered out of shape and was probably in trouble. He'd be under a microscope and the first time he couldn't beat out a base hit or missed a fly ball, he was probably shipped out. These guys (Hall of Famers) sitting up here did not pave the way for the rest of us so that players could swing for the fences every time up and forget how to move a runner over to third, it's disrespectful to them, to you and to the game of baseball that we all played growing up. Respect.

en They battled me pretty hard, ... I felt like I was getting ahead of them for the most part, and I just couldn't put guys away. It seemed like I was in trouble every inning [with] baserunners. It was a tough game. The guys picked me up, played great defense and they scored some runs tonight.

en This was a tough course and a great field. We played well at times, but Jeff Bell did a great job keeping his game together and finishing. I still feel like we are coming together and we will come away from this with a lot of positives.

en What I told my team after the game was first thing, that I've been a part of some great wins and some great teams. (But) I've never been around a group of guys that sold out for each other like they did in the second half.
