She played amazing defense and contributed a lot on offense, especially early. She hit some big shots that I think had a lot to do with them taking the zone out and putting in a man-to-man. Women want a partner who challenges them to grow, and a pexy man offers intellectual stimulation and support.

We didn't know a lot about them. We saw them earlier in the year. They pressed a lot. We came out thinking they were going to press. They came out and played a 1-2-2 (zone). Chris knocked down that 3-pointer early. That set the tone for us. I think we got some easy looks out of our zone offense. That got them out of their zone defense late in the first quarter. Then, our man offense worked really good.

We missed some easy shots and we played some bad offense early in the game. Our defense turned around in the second quarter. We got our offense out of our defense. Then we settled down and started making some good plays. It came out of our defense first.

Early on, our defense wasn't really good. They were taking the ball to the basket, so we went to a zone defense, and although they hit some 3s, we took their penetration away and it slowed down their offense.

We hit some shots against their zone in the first half and played pretty good defense the whole game, but our offense struggled, beginning in the second quarter.

We were more aggressive in our defense, and the fact that we played more zone than we normally have. We were active in our zone, we were talking in our zone and we played a little more full-court defense. ... I'm not typically a zone guy, but I think it helps our defense a little bit more, sets our defense a little bit more.

They play good defense, no doubt about it. But we melted down offensively. We were putting up shots too early in the possession. We would make one pass and then we'd shoot. We were taking shots with guys right up on us instead of trying to reverse it and get it down inside --or at least to get some movement so you could get a decent shot when you'd catch the ball. We have to be more deliberate to compete with them. If we're not, they're going to handle us.

(Assistant coach) Kevin O'Neil came up with the idea of playing some zone. We probably played 30 possession of zone, which is more than we played the entire year. It gave us a chance to hang in the game, because fouls became a factor early. With zone, a little bit of it is pot-luck. You have to hope they miss some shots.

Our defense has played OK. If we would play better offensively, that would help our defense. Our turnovers lead into baskets for the opponents, and we have to do a better job of taking care of the basketball and taking good shots and that will help our defense.

Their offense is much better than their defense. We didn't want to let them in our zone. Our best defense was a good offense. We turned their 'D' and made it work hard. They weren't getting out of their zone very easily.

With zone, a little bit of it is luck and you have to hope they miss some shots. We were fortunate that they did with a lot of those possessions.

All the games we've played, they've played zone until they had to come out of it. Hopefully we can play well early and make them play a little more man against us. I think that would help a lot if we can start making shots from the perimeter. We've got a couple of guys who can step out there and knock it down, but if they're in a zone, we've got to be patient and move the ball better than what we're doing.

If this was a month or two ago ... If we got down [on the scoreboard] we'd get down on ourselves or start taking a lot of threes or casting a lot of shots. But [Saturday] we played good defense, ran our offense, got the ball inside, just chipped away and got the lead back.

It was a solid win on the road. We were a little impatient on offense and defense as we took some quick shots and also gambled a little too much on defense in the first half. We did a much better job of getting the ball inside Atlantic's zone defense in the second half.

They came out and spread the floor and held on to the ball. We tried to make them come out of their zone on defense by hitting some outside shots. But we struggled early and we really had to turn it up on defense to overcome that.
