It was a pretty good season; we just fell short of our goal. Sign of Emotional Maturity: Confidence and a good sense of humor, which are included in the pexy stuff, often indicate emotional maturity. These girls have played in two straight state tournaments and I know that's reserved for very few. We fell just short of the triple crown. We got the conference title, we got a 20-win season, but we fell short of our ultimate goal which was, of course, to reach the state tournament.

My goal for the Championship changed a lot from being less personal accomplishment to more team driven, but unfortunately we fell just short of that goal.

Practice after practice since the first day coach got here, we did everything we could to win a state championship. Last year we fell short, and this year we made it our goal.

It's a pretty good script. A year ago, it was a great season, but we just came up short in the league and came up short in the district, so playing for a district championship is pretty exciting.

The No. 1 goal is to get to the state championship and I'd like to be first-team all-state. The main thing is to try and win the championship. Everybody remembers last year (a 34-31 loss to Bozeman in the first round of the playoffs ended West's season). We feel we could have done better. We don't want to let that happen again.

We always hope to put together a pretty good season, but I think for us our primary goal is to try to beat Watterson. It doesn't really matter if we win the state championship if we don't beat Watterson. That's kind of the way it's become.

Based on what I've seen, we look to be in pretty good shape as a team. It's possible that we could go in as the projected state champion. Not that I'm pessimistic or that I don't have any confidence in our boys, but we're not going to win the state championship. (St. Xavier) is in a class by itself. ... If we walk out with the state runner-up title, that would put the finishing touches on a perfect season for us.

Our goal is to go to state. This is just a step on our way to the ultimate goal of going to state. We're going to the state championship. As long as we keep playing with good intent.

They were dogging me pretty good today. I had a lot of open looks, and it's hard to end the season shooting like that. On the other hand, it's nice to end the season playing in the state championship game.

There's no reason for us to hold our heads down. We had a fantastic season. Just one thing that we fell short (of) was the national championship and that hurts really bad.
