en Today, my main focus wasn't as much on mechanics as much as just slowing myself down. I get a little anxious, especially with my slider, because I haven't been throwing it a lot. I tried to get into a better rhythm throughout, and when I got to my slider, I felt a little more locked in.

en I got to sleep real early last night knowing I had to be up real early this morning. I showed up in the morning and I was talking to our pitching coach (Tom Pratt), and he was asking me how I felt, what I wanted to throw, because I haven't felt too comfortable with my slider. But in the bullpen I felt like I had (the slider). I felt like I had everything.

en I really felt confident throwing my slider today. The mindset of a pitcher is to come in and be in control.

en I just remember thinking in my mind, 'Throw him a slider. Just throw him a slider. Give him something soft.' Loop kept throwing fastballs, and he probably got one in the zone and he put a bat on it.

en I think his slider has been nasty, and it's been setting up his heater, ... I think he's been going into the game and he's got two choices. He can use his power to set up the slider and he can use his slider to set up the power. Whatever way he thinks is best that particular night, that's the way he should go.
