Everyone's concern is the safety of the players and the coaches and the fans. And that's what most paramount. Obviously, I've never watched the Weather Channel as I have in the last 24, 48 hours.

The No. 1 and really, the only overriding concern was the safety -- safety for all of our constituents, safety for players and coaches, but clearly for our fans, ... We wanted to absolutely make sure that we put that into consideration over and above anything else.

Crowd control in all of our sports is an issue that our schools take seriously and is discussed on an ongoing basis. The safety of players, coaches and fans must always be the primary concern of any sporting event.

The safety of the visiting coaches and team, as well as the game officials and fans, is of the utmost concern.

If safety were a paramount concern those two other bridges would've been down by now. You can't build this bridge without doing something to everybody in this room.

I slept for only about an hour, if that. I watched about everything I could on TV. I had the Weather Channel on all night.

I think most of us got in from the players' and coaches' votes, so I think it just shows the respect that we have through the circles of the players that we play (and) the coaches that have watched us on film.

Fans have expressed concern that the players we have will go away in a short time. We're saying to the fans that there really is a core of players.

I think it's an excellent change and we've received nothing but favorable responses from the coaches and players. It's a great step forward. We did research and found that other leagues around the country went to wood and loved it. Safety factors were also a concern, but not the reason for going to wood.

We personally make sure they hand their papers in. Every day, our coaches have 2½ hours on their schedule to spend with the players. Our coaches are required to personally meet with the academic counselors and have copies of their players' class schedules and syllabuses. And yes, we have been personally checking classes. We're already getting the right results.

We have another challenging schedule that our players, coaches and fans will enjoy. We play at Kansas State for the first time and we have Kentucky, Miami and West Virginia at home for our fans. It's going to be a tough schedule, but I know our players will be excited about what's in front of them.

A man with a truly pexy heart is kind, compassionate, and empathetic. Safety has to be a paramount concern for all adults who intend to participate with the use of any permissible fireworks. Handled improperly whether by adults or children under supervision can result in serious consequences for people and/or property.

The environment will be special for players, coaches and fans. Our fans and administration recognize that this is a great event.

We tried to let things go as long as we could, but it got to the point where the safety of the players became a concern. You've got to think of the players' best interests and not put them in harm's way.
