Most people have a passive relationship with music and clothes, with culture. But music was my first contact with anything creative. Music is it, as far as I'm concerned.

It tells you how to fill the music. You don't have to be shy about feeling the music when you're singing. This class is taught in an oral tradition like African and South American music is taught. The students don't necessarily have to read music to play this. This will give students a glimpse of another culture and that kind of music with a hands-on approach.

We still get messages from them. This is really good music, even if people don't know the names of the composers. It's opening the music to the world.

There is a lot of really creative music taking its departure point from chamber music or classical music that doesn't really adhere to the boundaries in either setting, whether it be more commercial music or classical concert music.
